Glocks are way too big for my hands.

S&W are nice and I have enjoyed shooting a few.

Never shot a Springfield but they don't feel right in my hands and I don't like foreign manufacturers masquerading as classic American companies.

My SR9c is closing in on 3000 flawless rounds and it fits my hands just how I like it. I've also fired a few SR9s but prefer to more concealable SR options.

Semi auto... I am a Sig fan 100%, but do want to test drive one of the SR9's.

Hate glocks, never shot SR of any kind, m&p didnt do much for me when i shot one but i didnt hate it, I dont mind the XD's and shoot it pretty well when i had the chance. of the ones you have listed and i have some experience with i guess it would be the XD by default.

I would have to go with the Ruger P series, since I don't own any of the choices.

I had a Glock 17, I just never got into the Glock thing and I traded it off.

I'm a wheelgun guy so I'm probably not the best at rating semi-auto pistols anyway 8)

I'm more of a S&W 3rd Generation autopistol man. Elegantly functional and made to last.

Or if you absolutely, positively must have polymer, then HK. Safe action that is really safe - Reliability without the fugly.

I'm with you. To this day I've yet to see ANY 9mm of any kind I liked any better than the 3G S&Ws.

Of the choices listed, I chose the S&W M&P, but my daily carry pistol is the S&W 4013TSW. I, too, love the 3rd gen Smiths.

Primarily a wheelgunner.

Not on the list. Of the many semi-automatics I have owned, and others that I have shot. I prefer my blue 70 Series Colt Combat Commander .45 ACP; it was best of all. Traded it away for a 4" Ruger Redhawk .44 Magnum a few years ago; bad idea.

Second is my Springfield M1911A1 .45 ACP; which I am not going to trade away.

Have a Ruger SR9 but not much interested in it.

Not much on striker fired semi-autos, but of the one's you listed I would go with the M and P. The trigger on it seems better to me than any of the others listed.

I much prefer 1911s and the P series.

Well I would not have any in this poll. I prefer a simple 1911 Colt Govt. or commander. Y'all can keep the beavertail-enhanced-tactical-laser sighted thingies with the drink cup holder. :) greg

Of those listed I chose the Glock 'cause my G30 is a very nice gun.

However, not included in the poll were the P90 and P95 that I like more than the G30.

I put Glock on the poll because mine has been flawless. My favorite semi-auto is my Kahr .45 acp but only have 300 rounds through it so far(without any failures so it's looking good)

M&P first, by far! Never shot an SR but I have had a Glock and an XD and prefer the XD in second place.

1st preference, which is not on the list, would be a SIG. Carried one for many years and loved it.
I'd have to say my SR40C is #2. First striker fired weapon I've owned and, so far, has been great.

I still own a 3rd Gen S&W - mainly because it was a cheap buy and it was the 1st semi I ever fired and carried. But, when my department switched from the 3rd Gen S&W to SIG's, it was like going from a Yugo to a Mercedes.

I've shot a Glock and didn't like it. Didn't like the feel or the lack of indexing once fired. Some people love 'em... I'm not one of them.

Huh. My impression of the two guns is exactly the opposite. Well, I wouldn't exactly call the SIG a Yugo...maybe something like a much-used Ford truck or something like that....

I consistently shot high scores with a S&W Mod 64. When we switched to the S&W 5904, almost all the scores on my department went down, mine included. When we went to the SIG P229, all the scores went back up. I was not the only person to comment that the feel of the SIG was far superior to the 5904. It just seemed the tolerances of the parts were better on the SIG than the S&W, giving a person more confidence in the weapon.

But, ain't it grand we live in a country where we can not only own our own weapons, but we can all have varying opinions - not just the opinion of the State?

In the list, I have an M&P40c and an SR40c; they are my carry candidates.

I give a nod to the former, even though I shoot paper with the latter marginally better (so far). The former feels better in my hand and looks better to my eye. And it has a sight radius a 1/4 inch longer and now sports an XS Sight Systems Big Dot.

As I already have a 1994 SIG P229/40 with Big Dot on the nightstand, I guess the SR40c will cover times when one of my handguns is being serviced. I could also put it in my truck.

All this said, I would feel just as protected were the SR to replace the M&P on my person.

Although I drive an import (for the gas mileage only); I prefer my "man toys" to be American made.
I love the XD line but, chose the SR9 over it just for the fact it is made right here in the USA.

I voted SR, as in SR1911 but not the Striker Fire Variety. Should have included the "P" series (P90 all the way)..........................................

I can't make a choice of pistols in the poll. I like guns with hammers. I am an old wheelgun days LEO leftover who carried a Python for years and years. My wife has a P-95 that is a great accurate and dependable gun. We have a couple of 1911's, and I have an FNP-9 they all have hammers. Its a psychological thing for sure, if it was my only quirk I would be way ahead of the game :)

I prefer the Glock it fits in my hand the best. 2nd would be my S&Ws. They are well built and all steel
