Rubber and wood.
If your gun is a 3 inch barrel, use the compact grips.
I feel the same way about the OEM rubber grips, Hogue offers two different types on their website. If you look at the picture of my Match Champion above you’ll see that the grip I use is closer to the Match Champion wood grip than it is to the OE rubber grip that comes on most GPS.For some reason, the OEM rubber finger grooves just didn't fit my grip. They weren't the prettiest, but did fine absorbing the 357 recoil. The Chig's grips inserts with the rubber grip seem to be the best of both worlds for me.
Yep. I have wood on my 3" .44 Special GP-100. Would like to find a 'shorter' wood grip for concealment purposes as the one I have has finger grooves (yuck) and is 'big' for the gun. Rubber just doesn't belong on a revolver (or pistol for that matter) . Opinion only. This is why options are good!
Nice looking grips! Are these Altamont grips thinner than the comparable Ruger grips?Altamont upgrade grips, Chigs panel, One Big Hole rear sight.

Thanks. I think they may be a hair thinner, but I never really noticed. They do a good job with any round I put through it. I was happy with the Ruger rubber grips but thought the Chigs panels deserved a little something extra. I never had any desire to fill my hand more with Hogues.Nice looking grips! How do you like that rear sight? Does it work well enough to get decent groups at 50 yards? My eyes these days get tired really quick with open sights.Altamont upgrade grips, Chigs panel, One Big Hole rear sight.
