I just read John was born in Pickering, MO. Northwestern corner of the state. He had a dream and did wonders with a .45. RIP.

As others have reported, I have done this for many years with no adverse effects. I also clean my revolvers after each range session...

They do a great job bluing but be prepared for the unexpected. Here's a picture of a standard they did for me. I had to clean the bluing...

It definitely speeds up the process, even bronze works but it sounds like he already tried the bronze brushes.

Try a stainless steel brush in a drill and try that with a good solvent. You will were the brush out before causing any damage.
