I have the SP101 .22LR. There is no getting around the fact that the DA trigger is a hard pull, and pulling the hammer back for SA is not exactly easy either.
The trigger will naturally smooth out after some live and dry firing. It will always be a relatively hard pull. It is notorious that...
I'm sure both rifles are great. I bought the RAR .22WMR and I am thrilled with the rifle. It is EXTREMELY accurate. American Rifleman reviewed the .22WMR and .22LR and called the .22WMR a "shocker" in terms of its groups. My own experience shooting a modest 25 yards (limited by my local...
+1 ... the GP100 is a solid improvement over the Security Six.
Every now and then a gun manufacturer just gets everything right with the design and production of a particular gun. The Ruger GP100 is one of these. I just can't get enough range time with my perfect, perfectly balanced, and...
I scored a used Ruger GPF 340 which is an oddball model GP100. It is blued, half underlug, fixed sight revolver. Unfortunately the commitments at the Salt Mine precluded me taking it straight to the range. Just as well; this gave me a chance to clean the gun. It is in 90%+ condition; a few tiny...
I have a fairly new Ruger Single Nine that I overall like a lot. Beautiful gun and it functions nicely excepting for one issue that I discovered. The gun was very difficult to zero; every time I thought I had it, it would be slightly off (windage) the next range session. I finally discovered...
Yeah, those little 22 shorts are fun to shoot. Pretty accurate at 30 feet too; didn't seem to deviate much from the zero my sights have for the 22LR.
22 longs, which are occasionally plentiful right now, also work fine.
'Fraid so. Co-witnessing will not work on a Mark pistol.
Take the gun to the range and zero it. Bench rest it if you need to. Usually shooting at 25 feet I can get the RDS zeroed pretty good, then I tweak it for 25 yards.
I clean my 22s the same way I did my M16a1 in the Army. First a bore brush (soaked in Hoppes #9) a couple of times through to loosen the crud. Then a bore patch soaked in Hoppes #9 until it starts coming out somewhat white/clean. Then one or two dry patches until they come out clean. Even...
Remember that Ruger will install the transfer bar modification at no charge and they will pay shipping. This modification makes it safe to carry the revolver holstered with rounds in all six cylinders. A worthwhile upgrade.
This is my SP101 .22LR 8-shooter:
I was lucky as my revolver's sights were perfectly adjusted out of the box. The windage adjustment screw is, as you say, tiny! Fortunately I did not need to mess with it. That has been my experience with a number of Rugers, by the way. They do...
I will soon take possession of a Single Six Hunter. Does anyone know if there are Williams Fire Sights that work with this revolver?
Another question: is the front sight staked and dovetailed on the SSH or is it spring loaded like the GP100?
Lastly, wondering what "iron sights" and scopes...
If it were me I'd up the budget to $129 and go with the Crimson Trace Rail Master. It is small enough to fit on even an SR22p and works fantastic. I have it on an SR40c too, and no recoil issues after 1000 rounds.
I do not know the law in Canada, but the ten round magazines are what we have to have here in the People's Democrat Republic of California. This is the home of Senator-for-Life Diane Feinstein, so what do you expect?
