Unlike many I favor a 34-36 ounce 2 3/4"-3" 357/38spl because I don't mind the weight, I shoot them better and range trips are fun/painless even with 357s. Speed Six 2 3/4" & GP100 3" fixed sights work for me as well SP101 2.25" in 357. In 38spl, Model 64-5 3" IWB is perfect.

I got my wife a Ruger LCR 38 for her birthday.....
She said she liked it so much more than the wood chipper I got on our 14th anniversary......
..... I believe 25th is Silver and 50th is Gold..... that makes 14th Wood Chipper.... at least at my house
( I got a lot of comments on Facegram about it.... some people have no sense of humor )

I wish Ruger would make a sized up LCR chambered in 44 Special. A Bulldog but better!

I love this gun, 8x.357, but honestly it's easier to carry 2 j frames for 10 shots.

Mine is the standard K6s hammerless & has the DLC frame.
The Hogue's are a must for magnum loads.

Ruger sp101 2.25" 357mag with hogue monogrips and remmington htp 158 sjhp rounds. .66 diameter 17" penetration from 2" barrel!
My favorite carry piece for non-urban areas is a Ruger SP101 .357 SS 3-inch. Around town & while traveling my gun is a SIG SP2022 9mm wearing CT red laser grips in a SIG Kydex holster.

I have the 2.25 inch sp101 and my second gun is the sp2022 9mm nitron as well. The sp2022 is a great value for a da/sa semi auto.

After about 15 years of carrying concealed, I've basically decided that an SP101 is the largest revolver that's convenient as an EDC and at that, mostly OWB with maybe some IWB carry in a certain pair of shorts that are big in the waist
My Glock 42 and NAA Pug have been invaluable summer carry guns.
I carried my 3" GP100 today in a Hunter OWB holster, it rides nice and sits nice and low , but I'm basically carrying a police service revolver as a CC gun and it is very hard to hide
It's all a compromise

Try carrying the sp101 with a "sticky holster" at 4 to 5 o'clock. It's perfect and you can take it out easily and lay it in your console while driving (a holstered gun in the car is like not carrying one).
I tried briefly carrying a SP. To me, you may as well carry a Speed Six cause it's not much larger or heavier.
Since the SP is 5 shot, it's way more convenient to me to carry an LCR. If I only have 5 shots, it may as well be the smallest lightest Ruger I can find.
