It's 40* now and sunny, but supposed to be 70* by this afternoon. Yaaaa!! So time to get out and practice some pistol. Haven't pulled a trigger since Nov. and have been feeling frustrated for a month. Be fixin' that today.

Sounds like a plan Gunny. Have fun with your “group therapy”!

Might even limber up the .41mag BH. That ought to wake up the pews at the church down the road.

We got a nother month or so at least here. Good chance to use the snowmobile
going back and fourth from target to bench. Trudging threw the snow stinks.
Keeping my chin up it won't be long. My neighbor has been shooting he's got
youngens to shuffle back and forth. Got me thinking! :D ps

Used to live where there was a lot of snow. Got tired of it and retired to the sunny south.

Did get out yesterday. Taking care of my wife has curtailed much of my out-of-the-house time.

Anyway, this was not a bullseye drill, but a simulated confrontation drill. T-shirts make good targets. Tshirt is actually white, not baby blue .

This was a pretty std drill. Ruger 9E. Wearing usual street clothes (light jacket), OWB holster & 2 mag carrier on my belt. All shots were from 10yds (approx). Eyes wide open, clear jacket, draw, present in std Weaver, no sighting just point and shoot double tap. Safety & reholster. Repeat with mag changes every other draw, putting partial mag back in carrier. Not too terrible for an old fart, but I do have plenty of room for improvement. Total of 40rds fired - more misses than I'd like if y'all want to count the holes. Don't have a timer but I'd guess around 1-1.5 sec from draw to fire.

I have an RWS pellet pistol and just (today) received the adaptor from dovetail to
picatinny, and installed it with a red dot sight (you know . . . old eyes).

My backyard drills will start tomorrow. :D

Being a member of the Medford Rifle and Pistol club is great. All members have a key fob that will open the door to the indoor range seven days a week, twenty four hours a day. Minus the days that we host gun shows and some evenings when we hold classes. Pretty good deal for $75 per year. The indoor range is only 70' maximum and only pistol cartridges allowed. Rifle ranges are nearby cost $40 for a family or $25 for one per year. About 14 different length ranges from 25yds to 600yds. open every day from dawn to dusk. There's also 800 and 1000yd ranges which are open for long range practice on a schedule.

Between the club and the county range we pretty much can keep up what ever skills we have. The only down side is I do use up a goodly bit of ammo each year.
