I thought Buc-ees was a car show is a eastern state.....
Never heard of it in the Western states
When I moved to Pittsburgh in 1967, no one knew about 7-11 or Circle K.

I heard one time that employees are not allowed to have cell phones while on duty, that may be why they have to pay so much.
Dancing and swinging, mop in hand? Reminds me of my pole dancing days!I did not count the toilet cubicles but in the men's room there were 27 urinals... that's some work and I wonder how you navigate amongst the guys dancing and swinging.....

Exactly! Know a young man that started in McDonald as a 'do you want fries with that?'. He is a regional Manager now somewhere in Florida.Your last sentence acknowledges what I said about starting out jobs. Get started and work your way up.
starting wages.....you don't really expect to start at the top do you?And matching 401k. Not too shabby.
I wonder if they require the managers to have a college degree?
The problem with the lower paying jobs is if they can move up or not? $20 an hour might sound like a lot to some kid living at their parents house, but unless they move up, $20 an hour can’t buy a house.
At the large aerospace company I retired from, use of a cell phone on the factory floor was grounds for a corrective action memo [CAM] * with obvious exceptions.I heard one time that employees are not allowed to have cell phones while on duty, that may be why they have to pay so much.
My first real job started me at $2.35 an hour ....I worked two hours at that rate, my immediate supervisor came out and assessed my work, and said....you're now making $4.50 hr. to a 16 year old high school kid in the 70's I thought I was rich, I held that job until I graduated. This will tell how old I am. In high school I worked at a full service gas station. Saturdays I worked 12 hours and made $6 for the day. After school I worked 3 hours and made $3. I thought I was doing good. Gas was about $.24 a gallon.

Buccees has VERY LOW TURNOVER…LESS THAN 5%.Buc-ees is paying well above minimum wage. I believe they are trying to attract & keep good employees.
My God! Young people are expected to actually work during the time they are being paid to work? Quick, call a liberal democrat and have them stage a protest. One of the complaints I've read about Buck-ees is that you are expected to be constantly working.
oh dear God......One of the complaints I've read about Buck-ees is that you are expected to be constantly working.
Doesn't that suck , when your employer expects you to work , when you are at work ?One of the complaints I've read about Buck-ees is that you are expected to be constantly working.

Remember who are likely to be holding these jobs and complaining.Doesn't that suck , when your employer expects you to work , when you are at work ?
A job where you're always acting busy is a stupid job. Work should be measured in results, rather than effort.
I go to convenience stores and buy gas. Sometimes I use the restroom. In rare cases I buy a bottle of bottled water or a cup of black coffee. The 'problem' I see with Buck-ess is it is the absolute ultimate example of what is actually wrong with our economy and will eventually lead to our down fall.
We have been indoctrinated into just buying all this crap... we over spend. We have too much money.... and the Chinese are getting richer and more powerful everyday off of us.
they are laughing at us just like all these evil drug cartels .... the only reason they are rich and powerful is we continue to by what they are sending in.
I don't understand people who think convenience stores have food. Nothing they sell there qualifies as food in my book.
Good Lord.More importantly, the Jews own the convenience stores and mix the blood of Christian babies into the Slurpies.
When I first started working, the minimum wage was $0.90/hr. If you worked a full 40 hour week, your pay, after taxes, was barely enough to buy gas for your car, and maybe have some left over for food.So as many of you know the huge jump in minimum pay started in states like California.
State mandated high minimum wages were justified to provide a "living wage". The voters bought into the fantasy and it became law.
Here's what some apparently haven't figured out. If an employer has an increase in his overhead (wages in this instance). It does come out of his pocket. The huge evil corporations aren't making any less profit. They just pass the increase along to the consumers. Guess what, the newly paid employees now have to pay more for stuff. Result, no change in the economic status of those employees.
