It sounds like a prison, but it’s not. It’s actually really pretty nice.

All schools are temporary prisons. Children are required to be there by law and they cannot leave when they want to leave. If a child escapes, officers of the law will use force to return him to the temporary prison.

The school provided guns could be made non-firing for training/drill purposes. Plugging the barrels for example, or removing the firing pin, etc. Whatever, it's just a suggestion.

Could buy blue or red guns for training. Or realistic toys. Or carved bars of soap.

I'd expect that observation outta you. Same thing i said back when i was serving mandated time. Our keepers severely disliked the accurate observation.

Heck, every time they said general assembly in the gym we snuck out and went joyriding. Usually snagged a sixpack somewhere and shotgunned a beer before returning for the next class. Way more freedom than a prison.
