Church business model?

Most modern day Christians do not realize that a Jewish day starts at sundown, and ends at the next sundown. They didn't have clocks, so a "day" starts in the evening and ends in the next evening.
This concept of a day seems strange to us that use modern time definitions.
So a Jewish Sabbath (Shabbot) starts sundown Friday and ends sundown Saturday.
A Jewish year is exactly 360 days, and a Jewish month is exactly 30 days (30 x 12=360)
So when dating the Bible you must use Hebrew dating conventions.
Also strange to us is that the Jews do not have names for the days of the week. They use numbers.
For example if I told you I'd meet you on Friday for lunch, I would tell you I'll meet you on the 6th day for lunch.

Jews also use a Lunar Calendar .
Modern western world uses a Gregorian Calendar based on the Sun. (remember the pagan Romans worshipped the sun)
The Gregorian Calendar is named after Pope Gregory, who messed up the entire modern time line.
Before that we had the Julian Calendar. Even worse....

Sunday is the first day of the week, not Monday.

I am most fortunate to have one of the trio of books by Robert Alder. He wrote these 3 books In his 85 years of deciphering the Hebrew Bible, one word at a time. The Hebrew Bible is the oldest known writings which are considered the original Bible by all that have attempted to make copies and interpretations of the Hebrew language that was spoken/written back then. Robert Adler only had the ability to publish/print about 500 copies, which is why I feel most fortunate to have them. The 3 titles are:
"The 5 Books of Moses"
"Prophets"
"The Writings"
Unfortunately, I have yet to read these Bible books, and I am looking to do that before I pass on.

Should and must have different definitions and the words are transliterated from other languages anyway. I was raised Baptist (but Southern Baptist is not the same as other "flavors") and for sure it is not a requirement of any kind to donate a certain amount in New Testament models ... at least not that I have ever heard.

Funny someone mentions one true Christian church (my wife and her family are Catholic) but uses the term cult for Saturday services. It's funny since as many or more Catholics attend Saturday Mass than Sunday down here. My wife's family has always gone to Mass on Saturday evening.
I also spent some time in a Southern Baptist church as a young man.
It's the only church I've experienced that you go in feeling.good and you come out feeling depressed and suicidal.

I'm 80 years of age, was born and raised on a farm and we attended a small country Christian church. In my opinion if you want to attend and belong to a church that was about as good as it gets. My Mom was quite religious, and in my mind the perfect woman of faith. She never tried to push her faith on anyone, she said that live her life and faith in a manner that hopefully others will see and appreciate. We never did any farm work other than milk cows on Sunday. Going to church on Sunday was a requirement. When I was old enough that I had my own car she told me that she wouldn't tell me that I had to go to church on Sunday, but if I didn't I couldn't go anywhere else for the day. I never challenged it. I had 3 siblings, and when we became adults my sister and one brother were very religious and attended church regularly while my oldest brother and me did not. We did attend church while our kids were young because we thought they should be introduced to it, but after they reached adulthood they no longer go. Actually, Waylon Jennings kind of sings my true feelings pretty well.

Western Christianity is filled with fraudsters, scammers, con men, liars, cheaters, thieves, backstabbers, and hypocrites. Especially the ones that supposedly "speak in tongues"
I gave up years ago trying to find an honest group to join. From my experience many pastors/ ministers are completely full of poopoo.
The focus almost always gradually drifted from the Word of God and towards money 💰
Have you listened to "Thru the Bible"? They preach the Word and dont ask for money. I donate every month.

Also the church that the Robertson's (Duck Dynasty) attend seems to be very good.

There is a move in the church to drop denominational names or at least conceal the "brand name". I have seen some churches that change their name to a one- or two-word name but still Baptist, Methodist or whatever. Others of these one-word name churches are a loose group of churches that join together to be able to find pastors, do local and world missions and have some kind of fellowship with other believers.
