Sure hope all in the way of Izzy a safe. Just saw a report from Ashville, NC. and from the NC Governor. Lots of power outages. Charlotte airport is shut down right now (1615 Sunday). Just light snow here in the north-east corner of MD.

South of Atlanta. It rained all night last night & snowed off & on all day. It was too warm for anything to stick here though. The kids did go out & run around in it some. I am sure they are disappointed. I think we are pretty much in the clear other than ice patches on the road tomorrow morning.

Dodged a proverbial bullet here in Central N.C. Forecast was for snow early turning to sleet then freezing rain. Ground temperatures were colder than predicted so a lot of what would have been freezing rain froze before it hit, essentially resulting in more sleet and less freezing rain which is of course, a very good thing. So, I have power and internet and am able to provide this report. Areas to the South and East of me were harder hit with freezing rain.

Not complaining here either.... was supposed to have freezing rain all day yesterday with high winds... we got the wind that is for sure but the rain held off for some reason... this was after having 5" of snow dumped on us in the early morning... got a bit more early last night. Now the deal is how long will it take for the snow to melt.... temps look like they are going to stay pretty low for the rest of this week.... freezing at night which will probably make for black ice in the morning.

The local TV station just replaced it's 'weather dude' who can barely read from his clipboard while on camera. He basically collates weather forecasts from other sources and reads them off--often contradicting one with another.
I've been my own weather forecaster for 1/2 century so I just go outside, look around, and make my best guess although I do put considerable faith in what the radar shows.

Well, we got 11" at my house from this storm. All around my area,, it was between 8" (south & east,) to as much as 16" (north & west) in general. It took a break about 1 pm,, and I got on my tractor & scraped the road from the highway to my driveway (about .3 miles,) and of course,, hit my driveway. I was supposed to leave here this morning about 7 am to drive to Charlotte to fly out for SHOT. My flight got cancelled & rescheduled. I now leave Charlotte about 4:45 pm. My brother lives about 5 minutes from the airport,, & said he heard flights kicking up about midnight.

We too do not trust the local weather forecaster people. Locally,, out of Trasheville,, eerr,, Asheville,, they said; "It'll be between 3" - 18" of snow in our area." Gee,, a 15" spread,, how could he be wrong?
Saturday evening,, I studied the Doppler radar map,, looked at a few things,, and told Penny; "We'll get 8"-10" here. Dern,, I missed it by 1 inch. We are leaving here about 2 pm to get to Charlotte for our flight.

Now they, the weather experts, are saying we here in northeast area of Maryland could get another 3" late Thursday through early Friday. The last 3" didn't cover the spaces between the deck boards. Maybe 3/4" if that.

‘Twas a balmy 61 degrees in central Illinois this afternoon.

Raining now.
Temps falling to 24 tonight. Some will freeze they say.
High tomorrow of 24 with 6 to 8 inches of snow predicted.

Sunday they’re saying back in the 50’s.

The yo yo weather continues!

Please weather, IMPROVE up North so all the snowbirds will flock home and QUIT driving slowly clogging up the local roadways BUMPER to Bumper here in the mid-Florida area.

We got lucky and missed the ice predicted for last night and this morning.

Started snowing about 8 a.m. and probably have 3 or 4 inches now ….. supposed to snow until 5 or so.

Wind howling though at about 35 mph.

Good day to be retired.
