Dennis Locorriere, front man of Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show has died. Inquiring minds want to know if he ever was able to talk to Sylvia. If you recall, his call to Mrs. Avery was cut short. He just wanted to say goodbye but the operator said he needed 40 cents more for the next 3 minutes. Smart phones might have changed everything.

I saw the news & was a bit nostalgic & sad.

I too enjoyed some of their music.

Decades ago,, they actually stopped in my parents place here. Our two-story business,, "The El Tango" was a restaurant downstairs, and a weekly nightclub upstairs. My Dad was also a Talent Booking agent.
So, when they stopped in, which was just by chance,, the only one around was my mother. They commented on the name of the place & a picture of my Dad when he was a professional dancer. Mom got to talking to them quite a bit. Well, Dad came in,, and they kinda played a bit of a joke on him. They acted like they had heard of him & all.
But overall, they were all quite nice according to Mom & Dad.

I was sorry I didn't get to meet them that day.

great, very under appreciated bank.... probably the first "hair band", actually.... they performed "carry me carrie", on musik laden... one of my favorite song of theirs.... they totally rocked it.. much better than the studio version...
Looks like musik laden won't allow it to be viewed unless you go to YT... totally worth it tho....
