Another Sigcident

Speak for yourself. Anything with nothing more than a little, very easily moved lever "on the trigger" is as safe as something with a manual safety.

I always thought that those trigger levers were a bit stupid. They claim it makes the gun safer but if you catch something in the trigger guard, it will press that lever and the gun will fire. No more safer than any other gun.

The little flipper is not so much a manual safety, it is part of the drop safety.

The guy in the video says I have "low I.Q. and so I'm not impressed by him.... do people actually subscribe and watch and listen to folks just sitting in their house talking into their computers?

That's what they say. I'm not interested enough to do the math, but I wonder how fast the gun would have to be moving for that low mass trigger lever to have enough momentum to overcome the springs in the firing system.

Yeah, they do. They also watch people who make videos in the bathroom or their cars. At least he's not wearing a backwards ball cap but grooming and production standards are pretty low on Youtube.

The guy in the video says I have "low I.Q . . .

So you're one of the people who say, "Well, mine's never done that . . ."

I'm still amazed that 36,000 people have watched my YouTube video on cutting expanded metal....

Made that video something like 13 years ago and very low tech.....

Good video. Cutting stainless by hand is a pain in the butt. I remember years ago, they came out with Metabo grinders that were corded & similar to what you are using. We wore those things out. Then some helpers managed to cut themselves up pretty bad. Now we have the cordless version around but they don't want anyone using them unless it is absolutely necessary.

Milwaulkee makes a 18volt cutter (circular saw) with a carbon steel blade that will cut up to 1/4" plate steel.... but you better clamp that steel down tight first....
I did put on some protection before I made this one:

Just curious- what year manufacture are these killer pistols? Mine is a 2019 build, I believe (I'm not gonna get the box and check the date). It has the straight trigger, which is a mechanical trigger disconnect that Sig started in 2017. I see several threads keep starting about those 320's and how dangerous they are. Are we talking about current production 320's, or only pistols that were built 9+ years ago?

Take your pick of dates......there is so much banter and uninformed bias/paranoia from the internet that they are all rogue pistols capable of "just going off" on their own.....never mind jokers putting screws and other objects beside the trigger to see if it goes bang when pressure is applied.....

Mine is a 2022 M18...I did all the "tests" with primed cases aside from the screw beside the trigger (again ). Never busted a cap. I'm not a SIG "Fanboy". I do enjoy my P226 very much. The only reason I bought the M18 was so my Son could familiarize himself with it and the standard COF before going to boot camp. He has since been through a lot of training with it, some pretty intensive....and very comfortable with it not going off or suffocating him as he sleeps.

Actually, Ben Stoger is a well known shooter in the action shooting games. He's just not been as active lately as he used to be. But he does have the credentials to back up a lot of his firearm knowledge. Saying he has a low IQ was most likely him just taking a fun shot at himself.
Heck,, I often say that "I'm just a dumb country hillbilly" about myself.

I was asked yesterday about the use of the SIG 320 at my range & matches. I have tried to study & follow as many FACTS as I can about this subject. As such,, I have not banned them from my range.

Because you are a man of common sense and not manipulated by social media and overexaggerated hype.......in my opinion anyway.

The context was - at least how I understood it - is that “low IQ” people claim since it’s never happened to them, it’s never happened at all. I find it hard to argue with that logic. You may believe different and that’s your choice.

I can agree on that logic....but there are folks who know folks (yikes to say that ) that personally know some that carry it (320/M17/M18), have gone through basic to very extensive training courses with it and no mysterious ghost fires.....I'm talking hundreds of folks and thousands of rounds from marksmanship shoots, CQB training and beyond........again I'm not a Sig fan boy......and far from a high IQ person......but that M18 in my safe hasn't given reason to make me want to excommunicate it...nor the M9 next to it that had the proven issue that was never exploited as much as the over hyped/projected issue of the 320 due to social media outlets.......

he says I have low I.Q. because I can say my Sig P320 had never gone off by itself. I don't claim that because of this it can't happen only that so far it hasn't happened to me. From what some of you Glock fans claim, the Sig is fully cocked and the Glock is only half cocked and so I can see how if the machining is not right I guess a bad thing can happen and with that?.... a couple hundred thousand at least being made...
We don't expect other items that are mass manufactured to be perfect... why would we expect a gun to be any different?

I know for a fact that a Sig P320 had been shot multiple times at Contender's range .... "So they must be safe right?" ;)
