My Son came down from Orlando to spend several days with me and the company is greatly appreciated;
I also got a call from the Funeral Home and I can pick up the ashes Friday and I hope the Death Certificates too.
I checked with Social Security and I can change to Ashley's account which is about $124/month than mine. I also qualify for SS death benefits ($255) which is more than I thought it would be.
I think I'm covered for the mortgage, etc for several months with a life insurance policy and as I sadi, I will try to rent out a bedroom here in the house on a long term agreement.

That is good news Pamela. I'm glad you're getting a little help from SS. You deserve good news during this sad time in your life. Stay strong and prayers continue for you.

Good news indeed! Be careful with the selection process in renting out a bedroom from someone who has both rented from someone else, and rented to someone. OTOH, you are reasonably intelligent(legalese term :mrgreen: ), and have thought things through. I guess I am like a worry wart relative :shock: Good luck!

I'm glad to hear something is going right for you.

My Dad retired at age 65. My Mom had not worked in 40 some years. My Dad got his full amount and my Mom got half of what his was.

When my Dad died, my Mom received her regular amount plus half of his. So, this left my Mom receiving what my Dad was receiving. So this left her receiving less money. But she still managed to live on my Dad's full amount.
