Last week I posted a WTB for a Blackhawk conv kit, I like to have them around just in case. Lowhighlander sent me a DM, said he had several he would send me just to get rid of them. The package arrived today, had 3 bagged single six kits and parts to put together 7 more! Along with 2 Blackhawk kits! He didn't even charge me shipping! I have bought several items from him, a great guy to do business with. If anyone needs a single six conv kit, let me know I will do the same.

Thank you, Frank!!

Joey,
I could use 1 of each of those (Single Six & Blackhawk) if you can spare them . I will gladly pay you . Let me know please please Sir.
Thanks ,
Jimmy

Were the 2 BH kits both mid-frame, both large frame, or one of each? Just trying to get an idea of how hard the mid-frame BH kits are to find. There are many less midframes to convert.
Thx

One was midframe, the other was large frame, both conversion kits. The large frame was apparently from a .44, has the wide trigger and long collared base pin with it. The other may have been a large frame, had the long non-collar base pin, everything else was standard.

Thx!
The large frame kit would be for the Super BH 44 since it had the wide trigger, and that's a hard kit to find! The flattop 44 Mag had a narrow trigger.

People who sent back SBHs for conversion were very disappointed that the conversion hammer did not have the wide spur!

OK, thanks for the info Hondo. From an article I read on the misinfonet, all blackhawk conv kit hammers were made the same size, .357-.45 Colt Is this correct?

I would be upset too. The kit was meant to be a forever thing, to come without the wide spur hammer?

That's surprising to me but I've never heard that and I've read many posts about two sizes. Although the mid frame hammer would work in a larger frame but the large frame hammer in a mid frame would hit the bottom of the rear sight.

I can't remember where I read it, but it said all conversion kit hammers were the same size. I have a BH conv kit and a SBH kit. let me go check and I will be right back with you.

Apparently they were right. Bottom is out of kit marked SBH, middle is out of large frame kit, top is out of mid frame. Beats me.

What would be correct for a 1972 .357? I've got one not converted and plan to keep it that way but maybe should get a kit and have on hand for whatever reason down the line. How do I find out what I should get? And what should it cost me? Thanks!

Unless the BH kit is a mdi frame kit (you can tell by comparing the lengths of the cyl pins), the hammers will be the same.
Well, Hondo, page 94 of Jerry K, Ruger SA manual says what you said, all large frame conv. hammers are different from med frame. They also have a different part #. The misinfonet strikes again.... I apologize about the misinformation. So now I need to figure out what hammers I actually have with the kits.

Joey, I’ve got that mid-frame .357 kit set aside for you. I just need to get my stuff all put back where it belongs and I’ll ship it to you. I can’t believe how much “stuff” I had in my office closet.

Getting carpet replaced is almost as bad as moving!
