Do the new single six an old use the same cylinder. If I purchase a cylinder beside the length do I need to get a new model cylinder if the pistol is a new model?

OK I have done the work a searched the forum and I believe I have found plenty of information on single six 22 mag cylinders. Thanks

Hopefully this is a total waste of time because they have the cylinder

I tried to:rolleyes:. I meant the change in cylinders from old style to new style isn't related to the change from old model to new model guns in 1973. The change in the cylinders transition from old style to new style began about 3 years later and took a year or two to be completed. During that transition period guns were shipped with old style LR cylinder and new style Mag cylinder, or new style LR cyl and old style Mag cyl, or both cylinders new style.

Well it was not a waste of time. I had to purchase a cylinder. I found one the owner measured his cylinder after my asking for the measurements. His caliper measured the cylinder almost exactly the same as my 22lr cylinder measured so I'm pretty confident it will fit with little to no fitting required. I'll post more when I have it.

Got my new magnum cylinder fit right in seems the same as the lr cylinder. I haven't measured it but I'm going to because I'm curious. Got to shoot it also.

When I measure it it comes out exactly the same as the lr cylinder so the guy I bought it from did a good job measuring at least as good as me
