Ruger will not do that; in fact, they call that custom work. You send them a gun that has different parts from original they put the original back in it. I have been cautioned that I should take off my grips so they don't take them. I put the original grips on before I sent it
I'm putting a birdshead grip frame on a 22 WMR single six

Depends on who you talk to at Ruger. Numerous people have requested grip frame changes; alloy replaced with steel, SBH installed on Blackhawk, etc.. As long as the parts are factory Ruger parts, still a currently made part, and they supply the part.
I have had conversations with Ruger about this before. They always state this is custom work and they don't do custom work.

Now that Ruger doesn't supply letters any longer, it may be a sign that policy may be changing and less customer oriented.

I'm thinking I may have waited too long to get the 45 acp cylinder that was separated from my NM convertible before I inherited the gun. :unsure: :(

You can always look for & buy a used cylinder for your gun. All you need to do is measure the OAL of your existing cylinder,, and get one that's the same OAL,, or a few thousands longer. Then you can hone down the boss section to fit.
It's funny about the .32 mag SA guns.
When they were introduced,, I figured they would not sell or that many would buy them. Well, I was very wrong. And now,, despite the large quantity made,, they have become even more desirable to many.

I don't think getting Ruger to replace the 45 ACP cylinder is a problem since they can confirm that your gun left the factory as a convertible.
However if you can find one it will be less costly than sending it back to Ruger. Although it may be a long search.

G2 can confirm, but they look like standard Ruger Bisley hammers?
They are Bisley Single Six Hammers, Now harder than hens teeth to locate.
The last 2 I aquired, bought the guns, swapped out the hammers and re-sold the guns.

Well that’s ironic! I’ll have to check, think I’ve got 2 sets each of stainless and blued/alloy Bisley hammers and triggers in my parts bin of NOS parts!
It's been a long time mystery as to why Ruger has been so dadgum stingy with those small frame Bisley hammers? Especially while offering various other hammers, and other action parts openly for quite some time now.
I called and ordered two back around 6-7 years ago, and after jumping through a few hoops, they were on the way.
I modified one, and installed it in my stainless 32 H&R Single-Six, and then put the other in the parts box...
The next time I called and attempted to order some more few years later, I was basically told to go jump in a lake!

My wife stole mine. Now, it along with her current carry gun (an SP101 in 327 Fed) are about the only two handguns she shoots now. (Despite having a whole bevy of semi 9mm’s ). What scares me is how good she is with those two.
Always wanted a .32 SS. Finally got one off classified’s on this forum and never looked back. They are really good guns.

You may find like I did that birdshead grips look cool especially on the super short barrel but they don't "index" in your hand. They just wallow around and I find myself adjusting my grip before shooting every time. The original grip lines up quick every time. Just a personal observation.
