Remember this Guy?

Mr Hope was a class act. I understand a fair number of country music entertainers travel to the far flung military bases we have. Not sure how the rest of the entertainment industry ante's in. I'd like to see a list actually. Curious.

He did a show at Osan Korea Christmas 1963 IIRC. I was on shift and couldn't go.

Danang, 1968, in the rain, on Freedom Hill, at Christmas.....Thank you Bob..... story...a few years ago we went to a play on Cape Cod and in the playbill the actress said her best moment was singing Silent Night to the servicemen in Danang in 1968. Holy Cow...I sent a note to her and asked to see her after the play. she came out and I told her a long time ago we sang a Christmas Carol 'together'. And said 'Thank You Mam' and gave her my Best Salute.....we both cried....For a lot of those guys it was their Last Christmas......

I wonder where all those sexy young Hollywood types spent last Christmas?????? Ken

and BTW great memories and reflections on here just as usual... ken s that is a great bitttersweet story

aminahyaquin! Fantastic to see you here again. :D Hope all is well in with you and your animals! :D

Aminah, really good to see you back. Bob Hope was one of a kind, they don't make 'em like him anymore!

His wife was pretty special also. Once read that she ferried (piloted) planes to England during WW2
