Redhawks gone?

I must be behind the times. When did Ruger drop the Redhawk line? They do not show up on their website any longer.

They were there last weekend I believe. I heard someplace that the new plant in Carolina was for Redhawk production. Hope it has something to do with that.

Dang!!!! I hope that they come back - there is certainly no need to have to get a Super just for a 44 Mag platform. Yes, I do like my Blackhawk, but I have a wonderful GP100 too and not everyone wants their big bores to be single actions.

I do not remember the website but I recently saw a picture of a Redhawk with an accessory rail. I think they are comig out with a new model.

Hope the Redhawk returns. My guess would be they're just suspending new production for awhile not a permanent halt on the Redhawk.

I love my Redhawk, but it can't have the sale numbers compared to all the SR, LC, AR style guns Ruger's making these days. Ruger would have to consider using that production capacity for other guns that are in higher demand.

The Reds & Super Reds are not gone.
That's what the new plant's for & it'll take some more time & effort to get it up & running.
As of July Fifer said the Super Reds were on-line there but not the Reds, and they had a lot of catching up to do.
Quit making plans for the funeral.

We're not talking about the Super Redhawks, that's a different gun. I don't know who has production planning information about the Mayodan site, which AFAIK has only set up lighting and plumbing so far? Maybe an employee there can contribute something verifiable?

What we DO know is that the Redhawks are taken off the Ruger site, and what that has meant in the past.
Also a call to a salesperson in Davidson's Prescott revealed no orders for Redhawk revolvers are available; what is available has already been allocated, period.

Nothing good lasts forever.

The Red is behind, as I mentioned. Ruger is planning on catching up, as I mentioned.
That comes from their CEO.
If production of both guns is on hold pending the new plant, it simply means production resources are being channeled into more popular (better selling) models.

Seriously, it was posted on another forum that Ruger has a statement on their website saying Redhawks will return when production in their new plant gets going. Unfortunately the accompaning link only goes to Ruger's home page and I couldn't find anything about Redhawks. :?: Can one of you direct me to Ruger's statement regarding Redhawks? :?:

Well there goes the prices on them, dropped or not they will skyrocket now. Just look at how Ruger used prices have jumped in the last few yrs, I remember used GP's for $350 and Security sixes for $200ish!

"jacked-up prices" ??? Seems like Ruger does that just fine, as the Redhawks' MSRP is within spittin' distance of a thousand bucks.

I saw the posts on the Redhawks coming back into production but seriously, how many fine designs has Ruger brought back from the ashes?
Security-Six series, any? Remember the Redhawk is that same design. But machining the barrel is a hi-cost item compared to the bar-stock SRH tube...
No. 3? Easy enough to make with largely No. 1 parts if a true LEAN/one pc workflow QMS exists.
10/22 Magnum? What's the problem - Engineering never figured it out? Take a lesson from Marlin and cast a receiver & get on with it.

Folding-stock version for the Mini 14/30 guns? Don't get me started...
All of these sold as fast as they could be boxed, yet have never seen even a short "limited edition" rerun.

Many fine designs and high-sellers that have never re-surfaced. It is hard to believe the new Ruger will set up a brand-new NC factory with a thirty-year old design and production line. Sorry but I'll believe the "NC Redhawk" when I see one...
