Maybe someone you know that was a gun enthusiast all his life that sold all his guns because of a wife or girlfriend

I had a childhood friend that had his first car a muscle car his whole life. Restored it, hot rodded it extensively , raced it , show street car'd it. Spent bucko bucks $$ on it . paint body, interior, race suspension, brakes, axles, several race and hot rod motors. Let the car set during his first short marriage , like he disappeared , no-one heard from him any more, then divorced her, started being friends with old friends again, got back into completely restoring his old car again, hot rodding, runs, shows, the hot rodder life style. Then at 58- 60 years old met another controlling winch got married again, and changed his whole personality again, then sold his hotrod he had for a good 45 years, . Guy totally changed , never hear from him any more. P***y whipped ! How Pathetic.

My wife and I know one.
Friend of ours did not get married until he was in his forties.
Dated a lady who set her hook in him.
He did EVERYTHING she wanted.
We all tried to warn him. No luck.
It took her two years to bankrupt him. He lost his house then eventually his job.
He moved out if town shortly after.
We have not heard from him in years.
Horrible to see a nice sweet man destroyed.

I’ve known them. I kinda miss the old version but at the same time I try to understand. Pursuing what brings them pleasure.

Maybe I qualify? Got married and left behind childish things. Took on the responsibility of family. My buddies were roughly 6yrs behind me as it all shook out. By that time we had somewhat drifted apart.

Yeah, I recently heard our old friend just sold his house for this woman and is living in a RV..... WTF ? Heard his plan is to move closer to where this woman's adult children live . I have a feeling he is going to loose everything. Very Sad, to see a nice man destroyed...

There is a difference between loving someone and trying to please them and letting them run your life. In fact, if they try to run your life, they don't love you they just want a paycheck and a possible baby maker. Basically, I can't get everything I want in my current position, so I snare this guy and use him.

I could never deal with that. Nor do I wanna be the one giving permission to buy stuff or do stuff

Maybe thats part of why I never had kids

I had a friend I used to train bird dogs with he never had money to pitch in for training birds or lunch or anything. Turns out his wife was in charge of all his money and he would get a small cash allowance , no credit or debt cards either, and he is a Real Estate Loan Agent. Im supprised his "wife" allowed him to have bird dogs.

Im blown away when some men flat out tell me they have to ask their wife for permission for whatever.....
Im just shocked ! You have to ask your wife???
Is your wife really your mommy too ?

Only my husband. He admits: Damn straight! But, I do admit being a bit c**k crazy so it balances out nicely.

It is sad when you do hear about relationships that have such antics by one or the others. It is a partnership. You take care of other other and do for each other. Even Steven.

I believe there are only two times in the past ten years he got orders and an ultimatum from me. One was when he failed a Colonguard test(or whatever the name is) and he set things up for a colonoscopy and when I told him he was going to be checked out when his calf bloated up bigger around than my thigh. At his age and with the cardio and all medical history in his family that was going to be checked out. No clots or anything like that after the test, onto water pills and compression socks and things went to normal and has stayed that way. Him being him he first looked up compression panty hose and I guided him back to socks.

There is a difference between being courteous and discussing large purchases with your spouse versus being hamstrung and begging for permission.


Now that said, my wife used ask me to call into work pu**y whipped quite regularly, so I could stay home and play.

To be fair.......my Wife's only hobbies are books, knitting, nails, and the occasional concert. About once a year she will go to a play in NYC on Broadway Hardly expensive when you count it up.....my typical gun/reloading/ammo purchases are $1K and up...sometimes a few times a month. So when she gives me a hard time or says no more this month I can understand. Of course I've been on a rampage the 6 months since I decided to retire and trying to stuff in everything I can while the nice paycheck is coming in.....only two more.......and she will be the bread winner of providing disposable income.

I've been with my wife for 50 years now. She's never asked me to give up anything I enjoyed, and I've never asked for her to give up anything either. If I buy a new gun, I do have to sneak it into the house though. Not that she gives me a hard time for buying them, but because after bringing home a few and showing them to her, she's claimed them for herself and I've had to go buy another one. Seriously not joking about that.

Way back I told some friends I was going to stay home with her instead of going somewhere with them. One immediately throws out "P***y Whipped". I reminded him that I mostly heard that from guys that weren't getting any p***y. He looked kind of shamed and never spoke of it again.

The subject of guns came up and this thing says to my wife.... You ALLOW him to have a gun??? My wife told her that I am not a child unlike her husband who has to be guided through every aspect of his life.
The same thing was said when I went back to work... You ALLOW him to work? This time my wife sandblasted her but good and I believe this will be the last time any of our choices are questioned by this broom rider.
Matter of fact she mentioned that she wanted a sports car so I bought her a lobby broom!

I guess there are some men who like or feel comfortable with the experience. MIL's last 'boyfriend' (they were both past 70 when they hooked up) seemed to feel comfortable with MIL's constant nag and gripe.
I never met the old man's first wife so can't say if MIL replicated his previous spouse.

I think it's safe to say we've all known men who had/have very controlling wives.

But flip the coin.

There are men who treat a wife as a maid, a cook, a beck & call servant, a sex toy, a baby maker, and whatever else they decide they want her to be. They don't treat them as an equal either.

It's sad too,, for BOTH types.

When I was newly married and in my early 20's I toyed with the idea of getting a motorcycle, but my young wife was adamantly opposed to it, saying she did not want to be a young widow. I agreed not to get one, so maybe at that time I would be considered "p**sy whipped". For many years the idea of a motorcycle never really returned to my mind, but then at about 40, I decided that this was something that I really wanted. I went out and bought a small bike, and at first my wife was not happy about it, but within a short time she started riding with me as my passenger.

My wife also was/is quite anti-gun, but that did not stop me, and does not stop me now, from buying and shooting whatever guns I want to shoot.
