Mayonnaise or Miracle Whip?

Dukes for me... but then I'm a southern boy... born and bred....
My wife's latest food thing is no soy because of the estrogen in it....(breast cancer last year) and most mayos have soy bean oil... and so we are trying some weird stuff made with avocado oil... I don't like it, very little flavor... I saw that Helman's has an olive oil mayo but then I read the ingredients and the second one right after olive oil was soybean oil.

With you on the Miracle Whip, little more flavor.
Not going to lie, I had to read this a couple times to understand the meaning. :)

This is a big argument here at our house. I like Miracle Whip, but my wife doesn't. Usually there is a jar of each in the fridge.

I've read where what you like depends upon what you grew up eating. For me it was Miracle Whip.

Dukes is also pretty good.

The absolute best mayonnaise I've had is in Bulgaria. Real eggs, less processed, fewer chemicals. The grocery store sells little plastic containers with tin foil lids. Man, it's just so good.

But Mayonnaise is also fairly easy to make at home.

Duke's!

When I was in Baton Rouge for banking classes the bookstore had a cookbook called the Poor White Trash Cookbook. Seemed like every recipe started with Blue Plate Mayonnaise. MY family has deep southern roots. Goergia and South Carolina, but being a Navy Brat, I was born in New Port Rhode Island.

Make your own. I don't play a doctor on TV and I'm not one, but we have a friend who beat breast cancer and she eliminated sugar, corm, mushroom any and all wheat products and some other things I think, and it hasn't come back for 15 years

Good for her. But, mushrooms have great anti-cancer properties. I ate lots of mushrooms during my battle with lung cancer. I also juiced daily, including apple, carrots, beets and other things. Not all "sugars" are greated equal. Processed sugar is poison, but natural sugars that are consumed along with the rest of the fruit or vegetable are not the same and fruits and vegetable have much needed anti-oxidants.

Back to OP, once we were making ranch dressing and needed mayo. We sent the 19 yo niece to the store and guess what she came back with....yep....Miracle Whip. Isn't it the same thing..... 🤪

Duke's is my personal favorite, Blue Plate is a close second...🤏
I find Hellmann's disgusting...And, I'd grudgingly choke down a dry sammich anyday, before resorting to Miracle Whip! 🤢

miracle whip is too sweet.
i go with mayo.
and not the lite stuff either.

those in n.c. know 'dukes.' it has more egg than others. good stuff.

For me it's a non issue. My mom always bought miracle whip at home but my wife prefers Hellmans Mayonnaise, so that's what we buy. I'm not certain I could tell the difference if I was blind folded.

Hellmans mayonnaise

West of the Rockies, it's Best Foods.
Yup, where I used to live, it was Best Foods, where I live now, it's Hellmann's. Not to hijack the thread here, but it's kind of funny how that works. What I used to know as Carl's Junior and the Green Burrito is now Hardee's and the Red Burrito.
