Mayonnaise or Miracle Whip?

miracle wip

I just scored some " sandwich spread " at a new super walmart in Eagle mtn Utah

Has even more tasty stuff in it

Neither

Both are disgusting.

Add ranch dressing to that as well.

I once threw a sandwich on the floor in a restaurant in Ludington, MI because of mayonnaise

I bet that made you real popular with the waitress. :)

Opposite that, remember the TV commercial where the guy threw away the sandwich he made because for the final step, adding Miracle Whip, the jar was empty. No Miracle Whip, No Sammy.

Had ordered a club sandwich, no mayo. Told the waitress explicitly that I hated mayo, please make sure there was no mayo. She said absolutely.

Got my sandwich, took a big bite, full of mayo.

Said a few choice words and tossed it on the floor.

They weren' happy, I wasn't happy, but damn, it created a story that my dad and uncle talked about for years

Ok, grew up on Hellmans, but they changed their recipe and never tasted the same.

West coast, Best was the counterpart. Better, but not there.

Tried Duke, better. But still not there.

Anyway, saw this video and am trying these recommended.

Mayonnaise is for the inside and outside of Tortas. Don't knock browning a sandwich that has been coated liberally on a griddle or in a skillet. Abuelita knows best!
I reserve Miracle Whip for my peanut butter / banana / Lettuce sandwiches (gotta be on white bread).

I added to my vote of Hellman's and it's Bang Bang sauce. It made with real mayo with hot peppers and goes on / with everything.

I actually like them both. I get bored every few months and switch. If I was hard pressed I'd say mayo has a little more flavor. I was poor as a child but always had food enough to make an open face sandwich with mayo on one slice of bread.

Mayo , because its used to make grilled cheese sandwiches. Put your cheese in between 2 slices of bread and then put the mayo on put in a hot nonstick, or cast iron, or whatever you use to make grilled cheese , no mayo inside that would be gross.

Was raised in Iowa on Miracle Whip. Loved those Tuna sandwiches and still do. I never put Mayo or Miracle Whip on any other sandwich and ask for no Mayo if eating out, seems oily to me.

True, I also eat miracle whip for my work lunch a lot on Tuna sandwiches I make in my office with flavored tuna pouches from Wal Mart.

Been doing Duke's for years... have to buy local... they make the stuff just down the road from me. But my wife is not supposed to do soy anymore and Dukes has soybean oil in it and so am thinking about switching over to this Chosen brand that is made with Avocado oil. And yes I know Helman's makes an olive oil mayo but if you look at the ingredients it also has soybean oil.

Mayo on toasted pumpernickle, tomato and thin sliced onion. Miracle Whip on untoasted bread with leftover turkey or chicken. Tuna is good with either, with lettuce, in a pita or your choice of plain or toasted bread. Roast beef with onion and either one as well.
