I'll try to explain my predicament with this Forum.
I know about as much about computers as I do about fornicating.
My page has been working fine for 5 years or more. I was so used to how well it worked I didn't realize it was developing problems.

Problem one: When I contributed a Post, I was very interested to hear what other members had to say. It was easy to keep track because my Live.com e-mail had a little box on the top of the page that showed me how many guys had commented and their posts were in my in box. Some one could post a month later and it would still show up in the box immediately. If this post needed to be answered I would never know it was there if I didn't get the notification. It is very embarrassing to me if anyone thought I was trying to ignore them. My regular mail notifications are alright.

I have always encouraged members to open up and talk about anything. That's what its all about. Comments, complaints, photos, tips on anything are interesting. You would be surprised how many rarely post or never. So I need my E-Mail notification to work !

Problem two: If I spend five minutes or two hours preparing a post and end up having it disappear in the system without me knowing is just a little bit irritating. Its not true that I tossed my computer out a window when I found out this was happening, it was only the empty box. I would hate to have to keep a personal file on everything I post. One night I reposted an answer five times and it killed all of them.
I spent most of Tuesday going through my own computer trying to find the glitch to no avail. She is working just fine.

I hope the Powers that be figure it all out soon and we will try it again.

Maybe as a last resort I will ask them to delete my page completely and let me reapply.

Interesting.
I will also readily admit I am NOT a computer whiz. Miss Penny says I'm barely able to turn it on.
That said,, I've never seen a feature that allowed me to see who or when a person posted a reply to my posts or whatever. I don't have a live.com address,,, so maybe that's why.
I often post a reply or whatever,,, and have forgotten that I did make a post. Later on,,, I recall it & have to search around to see if I can find the OP & my response & see if anybody replied to my comments.

Maybe one of the mods,, who is a bit more computer savy can help. I_Like_Pie is pretty good! (Hint, Hint, Hint!)

Question...

What are you referring to when you say "My page"?

Are you speaking of your membership account or personal profile?

Ed:
What about if you started another account like FastEd2 to make sure that solves your problem before deleting your account?

Besides? What if "they" don't want you back? :D :D (that's a joke by the way.

Or start an account for Hoss? Teach that dog to type! I bet he'd be good at the fornakating biz.

I used to get email notifications when I first joined. For me they were annoying so I turned them off. Now all I do is look at the 'lounge' page for instance and if I posted in a thread there is a dot next to the title. I will look at that thread whenever it pops up near the top again signaling someone has posted on it.

You could also use the 'view your posts' found at the top right to see all your posts that have been posted on. That may be your best bet if you can't get those email notifications back. :D

If I Like Pi can fix this I will call him I Love Pi...

That's a good idea but it won't work. You would have to have a different ISP address for each name. My suggestion was to just wipe me out completely so I can reapply and start over hoping that would clear up the glitch. As far as wanting me back, it wouldn't be the first time I've been kicked off a Forum. I suffered serious emotional trauma and started dreaming about naked women every night.

NYUK! NYUK!

How did you turn it off?

I went to User Control Panel / Board preferences / Edit posting defaults / Notify me upon replies by default / check YES or NO

hope this helps you. :D

No offense meant, but there is a similarity to people wading into a swamp and then complaining about the 'gators... ?

If it confounds you that much, perhaps a different hobby might be in order? You cannot control a website unless you own it. You can only learn and control optionsmade available to you as a user.

You are right. Its not my Forum. I can't tell them how to run it. In fact I don't know who runs it.
I wish we all could live in a perfect world. And I'm not a controller. You should know by now that I am the cowboy on a buckskin with the white hat and a pair of nickel plated ivory handled Colts hanging low.
Not looking for trouble or trying to avoid it either. Would you really want me to take up a new hobby at my age?

Ed you might also look and make sure the email address on your profile is the correct one for you to receive messages from the forum.

Profile / Edit account settings / E-mail address

Here was my idea for you back in May. Any luck with that?

If a guy answers one of your posts 10 days later, will you catch it?

BTT (Back To Top)

Yes it comes back to the top. A post can be years old and it will come back up to the top again. Now if you don't check in for several days it could be much lower maybe even off the first page if there is alot of activity like in the lounge. :D :D
