A new experience for me.

My Cub Cadet (bought used for $450) laid down on me a couple of years ago. I'll probably still get it fixed, though. Meantime I bought a used Ariens zero turn 52" cut that only had 70 hours on it for $2200. This is my third season cutting with it so far and I love it. I mow about 4 acres of our 6.5 acre lot, but not all of it every time.

I have to say, I think more like Kevin. Plus I don’t have a good place to store a big lawn mower. I’ve hired it done since I moved back. Heck I hired it done when I was in Idaho. Plus he cleans up the grass and trims and a few other things. Well worth the cost IMO!

Many years ago, in my mid-40's; moved into town to a "town plot" and ten years later I married a woman who insisted on cutting the grass because I just didn't make it look beautiful enough; THEN, about 15 years later, she hired a gardener.
It's SO MUCH EASIER.......... :rolleyes:

Well, for serious work,, I do have my JD tractor and a bush hog. It can do a lot,, but it's a bit big for things,, and doesn't cut the grass as clean & pretty in the shooting bays as a good mowing with a better blade system. (I know,, the bush hog blades need a good sharpening,, but I'd just hit a few rocks with them & screw them up again.)

I spoke with my friend & Cub Cadet dealer again this morning. I had more questions & he was patient with me & answered everything.
I then made the decision to get a zero turn from him,, new & with a warranty. I'm stepping up in models to get me a more durable & easier to maintain mower.
It may be a bit more expensive,, but Miss Penny's happiness is priceless.
