For the concealed carry & Harley crowd

If one has to stop bike just to get into the saddle bag(s) to retrieve a weapon when in a dangerous situation, you're already dead.

Always, ALWAYS carry on your person. A split second is all that's needed between life and possibly death.

There's no way that's worth the price being charged, just because it's sold by/for HD.

In a perfect world which doesn’t exist on 2 wheels.
Open carry not allowed in IL so, OWB or mounted ON the bike is out.
Ankle carry wont work.
IWB really inconvenient and time consuming digging - while seated - to get under leather coat, etc.

I haven’t found a truly satisfactory way yet to carry on a motorcycle. The best I’ve come up with is cross draw and lift the jacket, but that more or less requires both hands.
That still doesn’t help much if you’re in *shudder* Illinois.

A tank bag isn’t too bad, if you want a tank bag.

If you have to carry in saddlebags, you might look at a folding carbine. I got a Ruger PC9 mostly for that purpose. It fit in the saddlebags of one of my BMW’s but not the other. I got a Magpul stock set for it, but when the two parts are snapped together it won’t fit. That’s too bad because that allowed the gun and at least one magazine to be combined into one grab and go unit.
The S&W FPC might work.

I’m not the biggest fan of PCCs but it’s more capable than a handgun.

There are probably some take down ARs that would work.

I was wondering about some of those weatherproof tank bags that are zippered--like a map bag? Having a map in the clear top could surprise those that you have nothing would definitely take them off guard. Maybe one of those would work well for a pistol, but not knowing how large they can be to hold a gun with extras.

I'm so glad I live in Missouri with a CWP when I ride my Triumph Bonneville, even though it also has saddle bags. I remove the pistol from my Blackhawk Kydex holster and put into my riding jacket in an inside chest pocket

Something else that might work would be to get a NAA 22MAG and find a holster or ankle band to put pistol into when riding. While some think a 22 is a wossy for protection, a 22MAG would remove those thoughts real quick, even if you only have 5-6 shots. Would be great to place on your weak side (clutch side) so's not to disrupt your throttle hand if brake or lots of throttle is needed.

Just ideas. Whether workable or not with how you ride and what bike you ride is another story to be worked out.

For those who carry concealed, on body, while motorcycling. What's going to happen when you go down? While bicycling I carried an AMT 380 SA Backup in the back pocket of my jersey. I went down and while I didn't land on the pistol, I did roll onto in while coming to a stop. It hurt, and left a very nasty bruise right over the spine. I decided that wasn't a good idea.

Tried a few thing most of which couldn't be reached. Then I found a small triangle pack that attached to the seat post and upper bar. Size was perfect, just undo the zipper and the pistol was easily reached and drawn.

Personally, I left Illinois many years ago after growing up there. I did not care for the politicians.

Harley riders will buy anything that says "Harley."
Lot's of truth to that.
A friend of mine bought a Harley that was broke down more than he ever road it.
One day we were at Sportsman's Warehouse.
They had a pair of Harley Davidson boots on sale.
He thought they looked pretty cool.
I said " Yep , they would look real cool when you are pushing your Harley down the road ".
He didn't like that.

In his defense , he does have some nice Harley's.

I like the concept, but think its overpriced. I'm sure I could cobble up a bracket of my own to mount a $40 kydex to.

Otherwise, a small pistol is better than a rock & I've carried a 380 in my pocket or a tank pouch for many a mile.

Seems to me like a tank bag/pouch with the pistol in it would be more practical... but then you have to deal with the stuff in it if you stop and park in a questionable place where you can't keep an eye on the bike. Maybe have it so that the tank bags are easily removed and then put them in the saddle bags... or just carry them in over your shoulder? As is obvious I'm not a biker....
As for how to carry in the event you go down... well I think there is no way to figure out the best way to do that because that is a situation that you hope won't happen and when it does it will not be anything like you expected....

don't need the "calling card" advertising, and back in the day, had a 1911 in the pocket of the 'windjammer faring', and Beretta 21A, in the inside pocket of the leather jacket, and any lady in the back had a North American Mini revolver strung on a stainless "necklace", and NO, never had a problem, but then again I was a Boy Scout back in the 1950s....... ;)

".....and so it goes, Wil Terry",,,,,, may he rest in Peace;)

"Otherwise, a small pistol is better than a rock".....Maybe it is, maybe it's not...Depends on the shepherd boy..LOL.
