In tge past, i never had a chineeknife my worst file couldnt sharoen, and when pakistan knives became a thing, they were spotyy on q.c., some would roll the fileteeth right over, most were cheap-file sharpemable. But schrade, case, buck, now have m.i.c and theyre all good, so-far. We have, pre-chima, had a buck that delaminated, amother that chipped out, and several schrades that could be sharpemed with a cheap file. I folliw dad's trial for a knife; if my swiss army knife, or leatherman, can scratch it, pocket or kitcgen knife, i pass on it. This is not akways adhered to with neat old carbon-not-stainles steel;, they are considered individually for what they are,but many are that hard, too.
