My buddy Cliff was in Eastern Montana on cruise @ 70 mph, had a big owl swoop down right at grill height and take out his radiator.

As it was dark out that was the end of the travel that night. Had to order a new part in overnight & effect repairs the next day.

He said it was flying about cab height before nosediving in, must have targeted a moving critter and lost situational awareness?

Had that happen to me once. Owl swooped in and nailed the passenger side mirror. Fortunately was nothing I had to get repaired. Scared the crap out of me and the bird. Owl poop everywhere.

I took a crow to the chest on my motorcycle once. It flew off a carcass in the ditch and I took it dead center @ 60 mph. I braced for impact, but it still hurt.

A pigeon swooped down from an overpass into the path of my Corvette several years ago. I was on a three lane highway and I had cars on either side of me. I’m just glad it wasn’t something larger.

Had a seagull jump up right in front of my truck one early morning. It broke the plastic grill pretty good, but I guess it wasn't big enough to get to the radiator.

I was cruising along about 50 mph in my tractor trailer with the window down and hit a cardinal on the mirror bracket i had guts and red feathers up my arm on my chest and in my face Oh what a beautiful morning
Gramps

Only doing about 55mph in my wife's Porsche back in 2008 just outside of Eastwing Maine when a seagull flew into the front left side, bounced off the driver side mirror, hit my hand I had on the open window frame and came in the car and hit me square in the chest and then up and out, had the top down. Red every where...pulled over to see how bad I was hurt and bleeding and discovered .... no blood just cranberries the gull had been eating....

One of the first bike rides I'd taken with my beloved ended with hitting a redwing black bird at around 60 mph. Tt bounced off my shoulder and splattered all over her face and hair, and she is a lover and feeder of all things feathered. Believe it or not, that was just the first ride of many.

Wife n I were taking the back roads back from CA and we ended up going past the 6666 Ranch on 114 /82. A few miles east there was a grain silo being filled and a lot of road runners were feasting, along with other birds .
Well I was running 70+ when I came up on this unexpected road hazard. I didn't hit anything , one road runner did run down the passenger side of the car, it was interesting seeing the belly of that bird .

No coyotes?

Grouse or 2, owl, bald eagle upper part if semi cab, turkey, few little birds. That Bald Eagle still makes me upset. Come up out of middle median in the dark right into upper part of sleeper. Owl wasn't much better full windshield wings spread. 😞 still bugs me could not avoid them.

Back when I had a cb radio in my pickup with a big magnetic antenna on top I was driving over a bridge at 60 mph when a sea gull swooped down and hit the antenna. It crashed on the road behind me and I thought it had taken the top off the truck it was so loud.
