I was wondering if it is just those I have to deal with or is it everywhere. I have an audiologist, a pulmonary doctor, a urologist, and a GP. Seems that no matter what time I call any of them, for whatever reason, I have listen to a number of 'options' and then "press ..." and then listen to another number of 'options' then again "press..." and then "leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible."

It's the real plague in the country. These automated answering systems circle back more the Jen Psaki.

We are just going to have to realize that "it's all about money".... it's a BUSINESS.

Our group doctors are run by the accountants.... they even re-did the huge parking lot and made the parking space so narrow you have to be a 24 year old athlete to get outta your car. Piece work has come to medicine.
IMHO,
J.

The next bill you get from your doctor don't pay it and leave a message on your answering machine for the doctor to leave you a message and you'll get back to him...just never call him back.

I get my medical care at the San Francisco VA hospital.
Day before yesterday I logged on to the website and noticed that one of my meds was listed as "expired" in the pharmacy section. My doctor had given me his number, so I called and explained what had happened. He chuckled, said "go figure", asked for the last four of my SSN and told me to hang on. Less than a minute later he told me all was okay and how was I doing? We talked for a few minutes and that was that. A few minutes later I logged on and saw that the medicine was available and ready for shipment.
Good people.

That's the part that's enough to PO the pope.
Another astute observation!

:D

I'm having much the same problem with my cardiologist.
His people forget that each of us is a CUSTOMER, and thus
can find other offices to patronize.

Really, if it’s an emergency call 911 who would have thought of that. My daughter worked with battered abused children when I try to call her I get the call 911 message on her phone I don’t call her anymore just text.

Well, I had appointment for an eye exam at the VA today; Appointment was at 13:30 and I got called from my auto at about 13:40. FACE MASK ON!! Eyes checked retina photgraphed, ete, etc, saw the Doc and was out about 14:45. Eyes are good, I'm about 20/25 in the right eye; got a new prescription, picked out my glasses with no line for whatever across them , all free and I'll have them in 1-2 weeks by mail.

Yes, I get a menu but I can always request a human and get through.
How does one "request a human" when all the options are recorded? There isn't anyone to request anything through or with; at least not any I have contacted.
