The ejector wire on my 550 just broke! Called Dillon they will replace for free but want $10.56 for shipping. This does not sound like a life time warranty to me. I was loading .44 WCF and the spring stopped working. I took it out and one leg had broken allowing it to move not discharging the loaded shell.

The priming arm broke on my RCBS Rock Chucker and RCBS sent the part free, had it in 3 days. I have been a suporter of Dillon for years but no more. If asked I will now recommend RCBS or Lee not Dillon.

Be warned you will now pay shipping on parts or repair from Dillon!

The OP's difficulty with Dillon is really strange to me. I've never had any problems with them replacing broken parts on any of their machines. They've always sent the part(s) to me free of any charge,

Example - I had Square Deal B and because of where the primer catch cup was located I would hit it with my knee and snap the arm that held it in half. I'd call them, explain what happened and asked them the cost of the replacement arm. They always told me that it would be no charge. I told them it was my fault and I'd pay the shipping and they always told me , nope, we have a lifetime warranty so it's on us.

I'd say maybe cal them back and nicely ask why you have to pay the shipping if it is a warranty issue. If the CS person doesn't give you a satisfactory answer, nicely ask to speak to a supervisor and talk to them.

I too find this a bit strange.

HOWEVER,,, due to the constant increases in shipping charges,, it's likely they are having to start charging.

And if Dillon is doing it,, it's news to me.

BUT,,,, since you mentioned RCBS, I just ordered a few things from them, and in the package was a notice;

I have had two SDB's rebuilt as they went through a flood and rusted and froze. Mike's CS sent a shipping label and had them returned and would not let me pay. I was told the B.S. warranty covered it. It just makes me mad as I own two 550's and three SDB's. All were bought years ago covered by the no B.S. warranty.

Dillon now charges shipping and your state tax on warranty products! Cost close to ten dollars for a free(warranted) primer return spring

I feel your pain on the shipping issue.....I have broken so many little things on my RL550 over 30 years I just decided to buy a maint. parts kit to keep me reloading.....I suppose that I could still return all the broken parts in one big bag......but Dillon has been soooo good to me over the years it seems like chicken sh*t for me to return that stuff.....

Maybe 20 years ago I bought a used, damaged RCBS 'Little Dandy' powder measure cheap at a show and wrote to RCBS trying to buy a new plastic reservoir. They sent me a whole new measure.

warren5421,, don't get mad at Dillon, or RCBS or others. As noted above,, shipping fees USED to be quite reasonable & easily absorbed by companies. But in todays world,, shipping has become quite expensive,, especially smaller packages. Minimum fees on everything.
Dillon, RCBS & others who have great warranties,, are being stuck with excessive shipping fees by their chosen carriers.

Just look at what FedEx & UPS charge to ship a handgun,,,! And ALL because they couldn't stop employees from stealing guns in their own companies. Plus,, they went a bit woke,, so,, make us poor gun owners pay for THEIR policies & faults.
