3 Screw Conversion Quesion

Hi all,

I have a chance to purchase a 3 screw Old Model Blackhawk in 357 mag for $300 OTD. The dealer thinks it is unconverted. Would it be safe to say that if it does not have the transfer bar safety it is unconverted or could it be BS. The dealer is selling all his single actions used and new cheap because all people are looking to buy are guns for CCW.
 
If there is NO transfer bar it has not been converted. A quick way to tell is have them cock the hammer and see if the face is one long smooth surface or if it has notches and recesses. If it is smooth faced then it is unconverted. If it is in any kind of shape at al, that would be a good price, at least in these parts.
 
Like Robb wrote, look for the smooth hammer face to be positive. The transfer bar can be left out and the hammer face modified for the gun to work w/o it, but the hammer will still have one notch in the face.
