3 screw Blackhawk: my first single action

My "new" Ruger Blackhawk 3 screw flattop. Some good honest holster wear and a solid turn ring but it locks up tight and has a nice smooth trigger pull. Not as crisp as the SA pull on an old competition tuned Dan Wesson 19 I used to own, but quite nice. Guy said it was 50's vintage. Looks like 1956-58, per this as it has a concave ejector button.

Serial is 128XX, no transfer bar, marked Southport Conn and has an Allen head screw in the rear sight to adjust and the rear sight is stamped "Micro" in cursive script. Holster is SD Myers El Paso Texas, and in the same "solid shape thats obviously been well used" condition. Sorry for the ugly pics, quickie cell phone deal.

Congrats on getting a great shooter there.
The only thing I can question is the allen head screw in the rear sight. Not factory. But as a shooter,,, that one is fine looking.
Oh, and to compare the SA pull of a Ruger & a DA Dan Wesson, it's comparing two totally different action types. But I'll bet you get used to the Ruger quickly!

Oh, I suppose I should have clarified I meant the trigger pull when firing the Dan Wesson in single action mode. That's the only other revolver I've ever had that was capable of having the hammer cocked, all the rest have been DAO. And I'm certainly not complaining, I was quite pleased with the over trigger feel.

Nice flat top 3 screw, you better grab it if the price is good.

I love mine, I have the same (not a flat top) but a tad newer 3 screw '69. First year of the XX- serial numbers.

I was looking for a .357 Mag, 3 screw made in 1961 when I came across the one I have, price was right and its a great shooter.
