    What’s your bedroom gun?

“This is my rifle, this is my gun…” (Can’t believe no one came up with this yet. I suppose this post’ll probably get “moderated.”) Mine is whatever I wore that day and got put on the nightstand at bedtime.

Got this Speed Six for Christmas

Don’t forget .38 S&W! But they’re unicorns, and I can’t imagine why anyone other than a collector would want one. My first firearm purchase was a blue 4” .38 Special, which I carried guarding security while in college. I currenty own a stainless 2.75” 9 mm, for which I’ve obtained a .357...

    WTK: Blued Redhawk in .45LC?

I've considered it, too. Just found this on the internet. Know absolutely nothing about it, but it might be worth exploring. Steel FX Patinas https://steelfxpatinas.com/shop/stainless-fx-stainless-steel-patina/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMInbiptrjU1QIVG0sNCh2qmwkhEAAYAiAAEgLOR_D_BwE

    LCR 9 mm

Well, I beg to differ. It has 'worked' for me, just not very well. .380 will load in my 9mm Beretta 9000S, if I tap the magazine to seat the cartridges as far back as possible, and the pistol will shoot, but the recoil spring is too strong for the slide to move sufficiently to load the next...

Not a Ruger but an "auto revolver"

What the heck is that and why would anyone want it?! It looks like it weighs more than my Mini-14.

Why convert a DA/SA revolver to DAO?

Ruger security six 2.75 inch barrel

As I type this my 2¾" 9mm Speed-Six rides on my hip IWB in a Don Hume H715-M WCS. http://www.donhume.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65_5&products_id=828 More important for concealed carry, a Lifetime Belt from Duluth Trading Company keeps the grip snuggly tucked up against my love...

Holster for Speed Six 4" ?

I conceal my 4" .38 Special Speed-Six IWB in a Don Hume H715 WCS. Mine has a shield to keep it away from the body. If you want more security, I think you can get a thumb break. The only problem I have is when I sit in my truck, sometimes I get a pinch between the end of the holster and my...

    9mm speed six - Update 4-1-13

Paid $650 for one last year. Great gun. Came with seven half-moons. I carry it often. I see 'em on GunBroker approaching $1K lately (that's the asking price - no idea what they're actually bringing). Under $600 wouldn't be a deal, it'd be a steal. The moons and half-moons are pretty easy...

    LCR 22 Magnum

I dunno. My dad had a Single-Six convertible, which my brother now holds, and I appreciate the .22WMR cartridge. I see Winchester now makes a PDX1 cartridge. I also like hammers and the option of SA on my DA revolvers. I understand this is Ruger Forum, but Charter Arms offers a 2" Pathfinder...

Ruger Revolvers, Security Six, Service Six, Speed Six

A little smaller, a little lighter, still carries six rounds, and can shoot full power .357 Magnums forever. And I think they just look better. O'course, my first firearm purchase was a blue 4" .38 Special Speed-Six, which I carried on a security job while in college. Sold it to help finance...

Just one more reason to go back to the gun store!

    Concealed Carry Class

Yeah, they insist we qualify with a 'real' gun caliber, or something close to it. But we can carry any caliber after we get our 'plastic'. And as many guns as we can conceal. And crossed bandoliers - we have to conceal only the gun, not the ammo. I took my 13-year-old son to the practice CHL...

    New to me SP101 9mm...

You got an excellent deal. I love my 2¾" 9mm Speed-Six, and I paid a lot more for it than you did for your SP101 (not sure one extra round is worth the difference). The 9mm might just be perfect for that platform - a happy medium between the .38 Special and the .357 Magnum. Well done.
