Here in Va. we are having a stretch of the most humid days on record for the month of October and maybe not until next Tuesday for typical Fall weather. Just tropical 85-90 % humidity and cloudy skies with mid 80's temps.
Yes things are much worse in other parts of the country but when you just sweat by thinking of the things you would like to do outside....

That's exactly how it is here in SE PA, I have leaves to do but the humidity is killer and it's warm enough for the bugs to be out in full force...the leaves can wait.

Autumn begins September 22 every year. Which has not much to do with when certain trees change their photosynthesis process, taking the "green" out of their leaves...

Glad I could opine. ;)

I thought it started after the hurricanes, as it got really nice and cool. Now it's in the high 80' s to mid 90' s. Again. Too hot to cast bullets yet.

We got our typical august weather in September and October. Until yesterday it hadn't rained for a month and I've been running the a/c because it's been so hot

In north MO anyway. Temp dropped 30* and rain all day. I was working and actually the rain coat wasn't all that uncomfortable. Got home and Grouch Attack had the wall heaters running.

+1 OP. I'm in South Richmond and its felt like Louisiana weather here lately. Fingers x'd for some "real" fall weather soon.

Hi,

Still running mid- to hi-80s here, with even less humidity than usual for this time of year: about 6% a couple of days ago! It's making for a horrific fire season as noted in another thread.

You Florida guys are so funny about cooler weather. Go ahead, rub it in for the rest of us that will soon experience dropping temps.

My life long experience in S. Florida says it should get cool enough on Halloween to have to put on a flannel shirt to go out 'trick-or-treating' at night. That is my ultimate test for Fall, the flannel shirt test. :D

Sure cant tell anything from the northern snowbird/q-tip heads; They go out in shorts even in 35 degree weather and complain about how warm the weather.

We've had a bit of frost on a couple of mornings lately. It's definitely not summer anymore. Still comfortable during the days. But colder weather is definitely on the way. I actually turned on the grip heaters on my bike Tuesday morning on my way to geezer breakfast. Didn't need to turn on the seat heater though, usually I don't use that much because when it gets cold enough for that I take my car. In fact I haven't used my cold weather riding gear much these days. Getting old I guess.
