I am not sure that firearm carry would protect me from a legitimate military or Catholic Church bounty.

Not to concerned with Southeast Asia, that was ancient history and those folks don't pose a threat here in America.
Nowadays most of the Kitty Liter Dictators that sponsored bounties have been silenced. But the radicalized organizations still continue, and they have shown that they have no fear to operate on American soil. Minor threat.
Yet it is the big money drug dealers from South of our borders that concern me most. That network still has continuous daily operations inside of America, they are ruthless, and have a track record of exceptionally long vendettas. Not to mention that the far left has no concept of reality when it comes to how much influence such organizations wield. Just take the current ICE operations for example. Even some of our own elected officials are clueless enablers. Folks living in the border States probably have a better understanding of the situation? So I guess it's not a good time to stop carrying, but I don't see an end in sight?

Edit The current policy of drone interdiction provides another layer of safety, but how many years will it take before even the drone operators are targeted? I have no problems with this administrations use of drones, but what comes next? Not to mention how long will it take before the Drug Dealers use drones to retaliate?

In my 20 years in the USAF, I've met a few Get Smart, John wick types, & never heard them talk about their careers.
I've also met the stolen valor type that paint themselves as the lone wolf , unrecognized hero every war ever fought.
If what you say is true, putting yourself & family in danger by posting information on social media with your location is not a good idea & your paranoia says, stay prepared.

The guy started thrashing and screaming that he couldn't swim.
He got pulled out of the water and slunk away to his car and hasn't been seen at the dock ever since

My wife is handicapped with mobility issues and I walk with a gimp... I am aware that we appear as easy targets, I can assure you we are not. I will not hide away from public view nor will I give up my freedom to be me. I'm not saying to not keep things low profile, but don't be the victim either, regardless of who you are and the things you have seen. Carry on with life. ... Me personally, I have no plans to stop carrying.

Many of the folks I used to work with went on to be Border Agents or continued to do interdiction flights. Nowadays they are basically in such a program. Their families are constantly harassed by DOXING, the Drug Dealers have set bounties based on a standard scale, and Uncle Sam has put everything behind the curtain for their protection along with keeping poor publicity under wraps. So compared to their current condition, Today is a easy day for me.
Guess I'll just continue to carry out of habit.
