I just picked up a NM single six convertible 6.5 inch stainless with vaquero like sites. No box or papers.
The serial number is 268-XXXXX Looks like 1998-99 manufacture date.

I am having trouble locating information.
Maybe some Ruger Guru's will have some helpful info.

Also a possible value if in near mint condition.

Thanks in advance.

It sounds like a GKNR-6 model. The 268 prefix for them went from 1994 until at least 2009. We would need more info to narrow down more about the gun. The rollmarking on the frame, a bit more of the serial number, what kind of stocks it has, etc. The devil is in the details.

Nice 22. There's not too much to tell. This is a fixed sight model. Offered in blue and stainless for a couple of years starting about 1995. The 4 5/8" barrel in either finish is the hardest to find.

The toughest model to find is the few they made with a windage only drift adjustable dovetail rear sight in 1986, blue only.

Ok thanks for the info.
Do you know production #'s or a value range based on real life prices and not blue book values?
I saw one sell for almost $600. but that had a box.
