I posted this this morning on my FaceBook page:
"My wife and I were both ill this morning, Sunday, January 12th, so we watched the webcast of our church service.
We placed my laptop on the dining table and sat in the dining chairs, these to mimic the church pews as close as possible. We couldn't join in on the congregational singing as we had no song books. But we did recite the principles of Stewardship and the Scripture verse aloud. And we (at least I did, can't say for my wife) bowed and closed our eyes during prayer.
My heart kind of ached when they took the offering, as that's one thing I can do at church, and somebody else was in my place. I couldn't give my tithe, but I can make that up next week, if I'm able to attend.
So, the webcast is the next best thing to being there. Missed my teacher's Sunday School lesson, and the fellowship of friends known over the years. The warm wishes and handshakes, even sharing some foolishness with some of the old cronies.
Missing church sure does leave a gap in the week."
