I try to never use valet parking anywhere ever since I saw the movie "Ferris Beuhler's Day Off" even though I do not drive a Ferrari. Once when using valet parking I found some trash on the floor and went back to the restaurant and complained to the owner. He said that it appears that the valet drivers, who work for tips, got together for their meal break and were eating in my car. He promised it would never happen again. I never went back to that restaurant.
I bigger concern for me is that when you let anyone that you don't know into your car you are taking a risk. The stoned out valet driver that lets some marijuana seeds fall into the carpeting of the car could cause some real problems when police bring a drug sniffing dog up to your car after some routine traffic stop.

I was a 35 year security guard at probably the biggest defense plant. IF people had a drive in pass for company property they already had been made aware that they were subject to search when they got the job, if they got a drive in pass plus it was posted. In all that time I don't recall ever searching a car without the driver present.
Had it been my vehicle at that hotel (unless I was given prior knowledge that I was giving up my right`s by well posted warnings) I would do my best to own that hotel and also get the valet arrested. People on a job like that count on using BS on the public assuming they aren't knowledgeable. On top of that, unless they were looking for something to steal, what possible reason would/could they have for snooping?
I would give that hotel a lot of free advertising that they wouldn't want. Frankly I doubt anyone told the valet to search and am sure he was looking for guns to steal.
IF some floor walker supervisor actually did, he`s a fool.

I would never let a valet park a car like a Lamborghini. There’s a good likelihood they’ll hotrod around in it and damage it. It’s why we can’t have nice things.

I have a friend who took his wife to Las Vegas in her brand new car and let the valet park it.
One hour later, when they went to retrieve her car they were told the valet had mistakenly given it to someone else.
When you think about it, all a thief would have to do is hang around the valet section, make a note of the description and license number, then say he lost his valet ticket.

On our Toyota Avalon we have a separate valet key. The trunk button etc wont work with the valet key in the ignition. I probably haven't used a valet over three times in my life and that was a good 35 years ago. The wife made sure we used it just today when we had to leave the car for about 4 hours at the dealer for some work. We went down in two vehicles. She is far more security conscious than I am although I did 35 years security work.
Years ago I was out and about but drove home for something for just a few minuets. I left my truck unlocked in the driveway. Soon my neighbor called and said he seen a guy looking through my truck. I went outside, there was a pizza coupon tied to the front door with a rubber band. I drove the neighbor hood and seen a likely illegal with a backpack that had just put the same coupon on another door. Of course he couldn't/wouldn't speak english. I dumped his bag on the ground but nothing of mine was in it. That job is made to order for a thief.

Even when getting a lube and oil, I lock out the interior trunk release and only give them the ignition key. On my Porsche, I do my own oil changes.
I don't have much of a filter with fools like that, but I'd have raised hell and had the cops there. Then I'd lawyer up. It would make the news! :x

Valets aren't all bad. Many years ago I was in a casino parking lot in Laughlin and we heard a woman screaming for help. Probably it was her drunk, sore loser husband that had her down beating on her. A young in shape valet got to them about two steps ahead of me. We got him on the ground and the guy says, "I give"! Then the wife begged us not call the cops! I didn't bother to hang around as it was obvious she wouldn't press charges. I don't know if the valet pushed it or let him go.

My vehicles are my private space. I do not use valet parking,,, even in places where it's offered. It's a principal of protecting my space, and only allowing people I know into it.
If I had been at that hotel, and had been this guest,,, I would have immediately called the cops, and pressed charges against the valet, and anybody they worked for. Being a guest at a hotel does not allow them access to privately owned property like your vehicle.
I see a lot wrong with what happened.
And even if it was written in an obscure place in your room rental agreement,, I would make sure as much of the media & social media & all knew of their policy.
