I wish to thank all those that have been kind enough to pass on their Maximum serial numbers! I am now starting to get down to the nity grity as they say and I need a little more help. Some of you that have given me a number on a 7 1/2 Max HAVE noted the front sight height difference, some have not. If you own a 7 1/2 Max could you please look at the pics I have posted in my original post and confirm which one you have. Some of you have possibly gotten a letter from Ruger on your Max confirming Manufacture date. I never asked for that information in my original post, but now I am. Only if you have a letter or a verbal verification from Ruger. Don't go by the listing on their website as I find it not to be accurate. I'm finding out about a lot of "stuff" about the Max. Still need more info to state with authority a few things that we all would like to know about the Max. That day is coming. Once again, thanks to all those that have helped me so much! Coogs.

Coogs...there was a height difference in the 10-1/2" also.

From the "Reference of Ruger Firearms"...

Note: Early BNM-7 up to at least 600-03068 have a tall front sight. A short front sight begins to appear on the BNM7 by at least 600-00658. The highest known BNM-10 with tall front sight is 600-03503 and the earliest known BNM-10 with short front sight is 600-03421. All early two and three digit “subscription” guns were completed at a later date, so should have the later height of front sight as well.
