That was the impression I got.
I just don’t think he was suicidal. He sensed the end was near. He was meeting it head on. Most likely went for a long walk in the wilderness and nature took it’s course.
Until we learn differently. I believe he is in a better place with no more suffering. Celebrating a life well lived and getting slobbery kisses from his dogs.

Are you a vet? If so, reach out to some of the local organizations. Talk to other vets. If not, reach out ti a local Motorcycle Club, just reach out
I lived in Central Oregon for 20+ years. There are acres and acres, miles upon miles to camp and disappear into. It’s the kind of place where if you don’t want to be found, you aren’t.
I can think of a ton of places where there is access to water and good remote camping- and there are doubtlessly many, many more.
I tend to agree with Waymo- we’ve done all we can. Now we wait and pray. And realize they there are situations that we cannot control or change, even though our motives are good.

If we find out the ride is truly over I think that Ride1949 would appreciate a send-off from us in the manner of Edward Abbey. Since Ride is in the high desert we should hoist a glass in his memory and shoot off fireworks and celebrate his life in a way that he would like. Let Ride1949 live in our hearts and remember him as a good friend.
