I, along with our family,, gave praise & thanks for his love of our recently departed DIL. She was devout, and knew where she was going.
So when we gathered,, we celebrated our love for her, and thanked him for being her (and our) Savior.
For the physical gifts,, there were a few that had Barbie's hand all over them. Lots of tears,, of both the loss & the joy of her were shed because Jesus loved us enough to be our Savior.

Jesus said whoever has done it to the least of mine has done it to me. He was taking about clothing and food and visitation in prison. Then he took it to even a cup of cold water.

I think Voice of the Martyrs website. has a program to support displaced Nigerian Christians, mostly widows and orphans. May be a good place to start for 2026.

Sadly, most people don't realize that Christmas is twelve days. Today is only the second day of Christmas. Keep it up until January 6th, Epiphany, and then join the Russian Orthodox and start over on January 7th. Twenty four days of Christmas.

It's even in the freaking song! :ROFLMAO:

Many people today think that the song is about the days before Christmas. Silly humans.

Yesterday we were talking about how when we were kids, all the Christmas visiting and parties happened AFTER Christmas. Just another sign of how Christmas has lost all of its meaning. Even my Bible thumping acquaintances think that Christmas ends on December 25th.

As soon as my eyes open in the morning, I thank HIM for saving my wretched, worthless soul, and I recommit to making myself more like Jesus every day. Over the past two years, I have watched my wife slip closer to Heaven every day, and all of this has taught me to be more compassionate, more forgiving, less judgmental, and more obedient. I want to let HIM know that I am changing every day to be more pleasing to HIM. Thank you.

Not to start a debate because I am not stating my opinion on which is right or wrong but that's one major difference in Catholics (and the near Catholics subdivisions) and Protestants. It's not a season it's a day to most Protestants. It's a season of sorts to Catholics. Protestants do not follow Lent either. It's all in the differing philosophies. I was raised Southern Baptist and married a Catholic so I am exposed to both regularly. It hasn't lost its meaning, it's just changed.

So you're not very religious but you're telling the people who are what they should believe? I'm fairly religious (Lutheran.) and I know what the 12 days are and when they start. In fact I know no one who thinks they come before Christmas. But you do you! Merry Christmas whatever it is to you.

Going to bring it to him personally, when I pass and we met.
