Yes... was down at my range working on deck project with sun, wind 75 degrees and my little friends showed up right on schedule.....TICKS!
Was either on or around my deck area and shed with short grass all around and picked off 3 of those critters.
Had my work boots treated with Sawyers but these guys came from above....wind blowing out the trees???
I feel like having a tanker of permithian just soak the whole area!!!

Will be treating 2 sets of summer work clothes with Sawyers and getting a insecticide put down around that area. I also need to get in the woods to service my 2 trail cams and for that on goes the white zip up Hazmat suit !
Love the country hate the ticks!

Yeah, right..... Had about 5" of "Spring" last night and this morning. It has let up for now, but we're supposed to get more "Spring" tonight.

Spring has arrived for at least several days here in Ohio and the bluegills are biting. Caught this small mess out of my Mother's pond, should be enough to make her several meals.

Oh that is very nice!!!

great seed tick battle, utilize a propane weed torch on a real wet morning after rain or heavy dew. sweep fast and singe everything. I do edges of yard where brush starts and around where dogs play or lay in shade, don't burn down your house or shop building but you can sure lower the surviving number of seed ticks doing it. Just getting some heat on them will kill them quick

Sitting in St. Jo, MO, right now -- and the white, fluffy stuff coming down ain't coming from all the cat-tails in bloom...

NO KIDDING
Grandkids were playing in shirt sleeves a couple days ago and we were welding corral pipe---now it's snowing.

We too have had an up & down spring. Some days,, ,shorts & shirt sleeves,,, while others,,, the coats & gloves. And yes,, we have already had a tick make an appearance on my helper. That,,, and a few snakes have appeared too. The pollen is flying & dusting stuff in yellow. Flowers & all are also in bloom,,, while the gardeners & farmers worry a lot.

I liken it to a simple thing. God is still in control & likes to show us occasionally.

However,, I made that statement a few weeks ago to a customer,,, and she went on a rant about how the government & military are seeding the clouds & altering the weather. She was very upset at the temperatures IN FLORIDA,,, and all. She claimed that "they" were controlling the weather.
I choose to believe in God myself.

408 what is this Sawyers you speak of ? It seems I can't walk back to the river at my place where I don't find a tick or two on me. And heaven forbid if one happens to attach, when that happens they start crapping chiggers and then I'm in real trouble. For some reason I'm a magnet to biting bugs and I have considers getting some of those cheap white hazmat suits to work in the back woods.

It is Sawyer Insect Repellent...black and yellow box with yellow spray bottle inside.
Contains Permethrin which kills ticks and other little critters.

You treat your clothing shoes, boots and outdoor gear with it....let it dry and should keep the ticks from getting to you. DO NOT spray it on your skin!!!!

I find it at Walmart in camping supply area or most other outdoor supply stores.

I'm also going to spray Bifen IT which is an insecticide mix all around the area of my small cabin and deck area and the grounds around it.

Spring has not sprung yet in these parts. Snow still covers our yard highs in the thirties today! We got a little ways to go. ps

Spring hasn't sprung here yet either. We got around 12" of snow yesterday and last night and it's still snowing right now.

Been here for a while (already mowed my lawn 3 already this year), oak pollen is just now finishing up, pine pollen was weeks ago, and the hummingbirds have returned.

80+ yesterday and high 40s today. Nope, Spring isn't here yet.
Not so springlike today, but yesterday was wonderful. Put some screens in, opened some windows, sat on the deck a bit and took it in. Even heard an owl hooting through an open window.
