Ok so I am a bit quirky. I like to shop for deals on some things. I follow 10 or so auction items all the time on Ebay looking for particular things I like.

So why in the world would you pay more for a used Carhartt t-shirt or jeans than what you can buy them in the store for- I just dont get it. And - Yes they do sell !

Ok so you live way out in the country and there is no store - Everybody selling new ships any where - I do believe I would pay $2 more for a brand new shirt shipped to me as opposed to a used shirt from Ebay - I just dont get it.

SWR, I can help you with this. Just don't buy used Carhartts.

The question is "What is it worth to YOU?". P.T.Barnum said it best, "There is a sucker born every minute".

Actually, there is no historical evidence to support that P. T. Barnum ever made this statement, even though it is often ascribed to him.

I am so sorry to post unsubstantiated information . Please accept my apologies. (sarcasm font off)

Perhaps they are rare and collectible Carhart shirts.

Hi,

Possibly from the "1 of 5,000,000" series? Or maybe it's got the "Made in USA" tag that seems to be missing from so much Carhartt merchandise these days? ;)

People buy and sell Ruger parts on ebay too. I always call the factory first. Grip medallion from Ruger....$2.50 plus freight. From Ebay....$10.00.

Suckers.....

I have often found an item I would like on Ebay, then I find it locally for 1/3 the price-and no shipping.

Firearm owners shouldn't even think about giving their business ($$$) to that blatant anti-gun outfit, and/or it's PayPal subsidiary - I know that I don't/won't, no matter what I'm "missing out on".

It was just a point made by one of our compatriots on how silly folks can be... heck I got 'took' here a few years back... but I paid what the guy was asking.... just a silly price for 22 ammo and it was early in the a.m. and I had not had my second cup of coffee. few folks said back down but I had said I would by and I keep my word.

As for P.T. Barnum... well, there is no historic documentation that he didn't say it either.....

Matter of fact, I buy the majority of my clothes(except socks and underwear) on e-bay. Couple of months back, I bought 10 very nice (3 had never been worn) long sleeve shirts for less than $2 each. I seldom spend more than $4 a pair for jeans. $120 boots for $30-40.
Regarding Carhartt stuff, I'd rather have lightly worn, broken in Carhartts than new stiff as a board off the shelf.
T-shirts? Menards free after rebate is the way I roll.

It can be the auction adrenalin for some.

35 years ago I attended an auction and they were selling tools by the piece. I was looking at a single Crafstman line wrench. It started at .25 and was bumping at .25 increments. At $1 the auctioneer looked at me and I bowed out. He said "Guess I'll go the where the money is" and continued. That ONE single wrench went for $15. We were 8 miles from a Sears store that had a five piece set on sale for $9.99. Go figure.

If you really want to be amazed, browse through the "totally bizarre" category on Ebay.
I go on there just for sh*ts and giggles. Once saw a used KFC bucket go for $16.00!
