It is a "pistol", similar to the XP-100 or Savage Striker. They are quite popular with handgun hunters

Scuttlebutt had it, there were 3 made, observeable by loop variations during filming, and a g-man present whenever it left stembridge's vaults. I ran across the buttstock for one of them at a gunshow, mebbe 20-25 yrs back for 350$ and no paperwork whatsoever. Passed his table later that day he called me over, howabout 225$? I told him, no pedigree, no sale. i can fake up my own and add sweat-rust, too, even if it dosent have steevie's dna under the steel plate and in the wood.exactly what I was thinking about Steve McQueen and that stupid lever action.....which actually was probably more practical that the one shown in this post. I guess McQueens 'handgun' was before the 1968 gun control act and so it was not illegal by todays standards....
Firearm original made to be a long gun can not be modified to be a handgun with out a NFA tax stamp.
Capitalism at its finest. everything for sale is designed to separate people from their money. It just depends what the individual feels is adequate value for the money being separated from themWhat I understand is, even though I myself do not desire to purchase or own one...They are available for those who do.![]()
Dates back to thag, who found grunk's wife would keep him in brontosaurus stew as long as he kept making spearheads for grunk to poke young brontosauer with. And berk's wife would trade the most delightful hazelnut truffles for sinew to bind the sharpstones to longsticks. Eventually thag hire young talent, bardwilm, to help him make more pokesticks faster than you could shake a spear.Capitalism at its finest. everything for sale is designed to separate people from their money. First thing I noticed. Main reason I bought an XP100.Gotta be a left hander to hold and operate the bolt without changing hands or reaching across the 'thing'. I believe I'll pass on that one.
Actually, most things like that are show trucks. They demonstrate some pretty amazing design and mechanical skills. It's a hobby for many, a profession for some. Kind of like firearms.WTF ?????
