The only positive reviews you'll hear on the stuff will be anecdotal. It's basically PTFE - which is to say Teflon - suspended in light oil. I do believe that the chemical engineers that designed the motor oil in your car knew what they were doing, as did the mechanical engineers that designed the engine.
For myself, I follow my owner's manual and use the finest manufacturer recommended oil I can get.

I'm of the opinion a chemical engineer fresh out of college on his first day in the lab of a major oil company knows more about this stuff than the combined wisdom of millions of Interwebs conversations. As such, Jeff's right: let the guys who actually know what they're doing do it, and benefit from their work and knowledge!
Yup, Slick 50 is just Teflon/PTFE, and DuPont, who pioneered that material, used to have what seemed to be about a weekly PSA on Slick 50 to the effect of "It was not designed to be used in lubricating oils, does no good in them, and you're just wasting your money putting it in yours."
So who ya gonna believe? The guys who work for a chemical company at least 200 years old (think they learned anything in that time?) who actually MAKE the stuff, or some guy on that barstool down at the end who loudly proclaims he put the stuff in his car, which immediately gained 150hp, gets 25 more mpg, and now he has to fight off beautiful women every where he goes? We know who the marketing dept is betting on!
On the ZDDP additive issue, I'm not sure how bad the problem really is, but it does seem to be documented reasonably well. On the anecdotal side, there's a fellow some of you have heard of, Irv Gordon, who holds the world's record for mileage in a gasoline engined car. His 1966 Volvo P1800 has over 3 million miles, and he was on his third engine last I knew. I saw a discussion he was in on a car forum about what kind of "special" oil and/or additives he used. Irv wouldn't give the brand, but said he's used 15W-40 diesel oil (which also has an "S" rating for gasoline use) for quite a number of years. It's easy enough to deduce from there he's talking about Chevron's Delo 400, Mobil's Delvac, or Shell's Rotella (all of which pass million mile tests for diesel use.) It's no surprise that with improvements in oil technology, his second engine outlasted the first (if memory serves, it was about 660k for the first, somewhere over a mil on the second, and the third has more than the second did.)
It's rumored both the diesel and the "high mileage" formulations of regular gasoline motor oils either have more ZDDP or something else that doesn't eat catalytic convertors. Who knows, those guys in the white lab coats may just know something!
