• Still trying to get my head around the fact that 'Take Out' can mean food, dating, or murder.

• Dear paranoid people who check behind their shower curtains for murderers. If you do find one, what's your plan?

• The older I get, the more I understand why roosters just scream to start their day.

• Being popular on Facebook is like sitting at the 'cool table' in the cafeteria of a mental hospital.

• You know you're over 50 when you have 'upstairs ibuprofen' and 'downstairs ibuprofen'.

How did doctors come to the conclusion that exercise prolongs life, when… …the rabbit is always jumping but only lives for around two years, and …the turtle that doesn't exercise at all, lives over 200 years. So, rest, chill, eat, drink, and enjoy life!

• If only vegetables smelled as good as bacon.

• I woke up this morning determined to drink less, eat right, and exercise. But that was four hours ago when I was younger and full of hope.

• Anyone who says their wedding was the best day of their life has clearly never had two candy bars fall down at once from a vending machine.

• We live in a time where intelligent people are silenced so that stupid people won't be offended.

• The biggest joke on mankind is that computers have begun asking humans to prove they aren't a robot.

• When a kid says "Daddy, I want mommy" that's the kid version of "I'd like to speak to your supervisor".

• It's weird being the same age as old people.

• Just once, I want a username and password prompt to say CLOSE ENOUGH.

• If Adam and Eve were Vietnamese, they would have eaten the snake instead of the apple and saved us all a lot of trouble.

• We celebrated last night with a couple of adult beverages …… Metamucil and Ensure.

• You know you are getting old when friends with benefits means having someone who can drive at night.

• Weight loss goal: To be able to clip my toenails and breathe at the same time.

• After watching how some people wore their masks, I understand why contraception fails.

• Some of my friends exercise every day. Meanwhile I am watching a show I don't like because the remote fell on the floor.

• For those of you that don't want Alexa or Siri listening in on your conversation, they are making a male version….it doesn't listen to anything.

• I just got a present labeled, 'From Mom and Dad', and I know darn well Dad has no idea what's inside.

• Now that Covid has everyone washing their hands correctly…next week…Turn Signals.

• Someone said, "Nothing rhymes with orange." I said, "No, it doesn't."

• The pessimist complains about the wind. The optimist expects it to change. The realist adjusts his sails.

• There's a fine line between a numerator and a denominator. Only a fraction of people will find this funny.

• Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are.

• I have many hidden talents. I just wish I could remember where I hid them.

• My idea of a Super Bowl is a toilet that cleans itself.

• Apparently exercise helps you with decision-making. It's true. I went for a run this morning and decided I'm never going again.

My Dad once told me, "You'll know you're getting old when all the new cars start looking alike to you." That happened to me at some point in the '80s.

I felt like that around 1990, when they all started to look like jelly beans.
I called them all "used bars of soap."

And it used to be you could tell a car a block away just by the various brands' distinctive/signature grilles. Couple decades ago, ALL the carmakers started using what I call "smile" grilles. You could not tell them apart, and that evil trend lasted a LONG time. Looks like they've moved on to something else now.

Yeah, there was a time back around the 50's and up when people used to get excited about the new cars for the year. It was like "oh man, have you seen the new $%^&*^ ? Now, nobody really cares since they all look the same. I was ten when that ol' 57 chevy came out. Us kids weren't too crazy about the 58 Impala but a couple years ago, I saw one driving around in Homeland Calif. It was painted a gold color and it had what us kids hated. That was the continental kit on the back for the spare tire. But, I have to admit, that thing was absolutely gorgeous. It's really a shame what designers have done to cars made in the U.S.

Most of us were disappointed with the year of the chrome in 1958. Then again in 1959 the year of the fins. 1957 was probably the best of the fins and chrome. Yep the toilet seat/continental kit was pretty popular in the 50s. It made the longgggggggggg cars even longer But 58 Chevy was the first of the Impala name and the big block 348 CU IN Rat and then the race for CU INs began.
Still wish I had my 57 Roadmaster convertible 1 of 1,436 produced in 1957.I bought in 1962 with 35k on it for $750. 57 Chevy ragtops were going for $995 at the time. The Buick was a much better/nicer car for less $$$ a no brainer for me.
I traded it in, with 65K miles, on a new 1964 390 Ford Galaxy 500 two door hardtop. Probably got $300-400 for it.
My USAF roommate had a 57 Chevy 210 with a 283 3 speed that I drove at times just an OK car no big deal.

Mine was the same as this one. Looks like they have gone up in price a weeee bit.
I was looking for one 15-20 years ago and there were none for sale. Now there seem to be several for sale and a real nice one will go for 90K like the one pictured to 200K for a perfect restored one. They are now a little out of my pay grade. :( :(

My fave car is a 1959 Chevy Impala. Rarely see one at Hot August Nights in Reno/Sparks. Must be rare and highly valued?

I always wondered if any (or how) many people tripped and fell into one of those fins and got hurt.

From today’s perspective they look like a safety hazard. One of many on those old cars, but fins were intentionally added just for style.

The '59 and '60 Chevys WERE popular - they were also dangerous to drive on the highway. Those fins provided lift - enough to reduce rear wheel traction at high speed. Highway patrols bought fleets of these cars, then rapidly sold them once the "bad car" reports began arriving.

My dad bought our family a brand new '60 Impala. Mom drove it. She rarely drove on highways, so she thought the car was wonderful. Then we took it on a cross-country vacation (with dad at the wheel). All opinions about that car changed, and not for the better.

Sideways fins are not style. They are just stupid looking. That was the opinion of us 12 year old kids at the time. And we were right.

Hilariously funny and spot on!

I remember in about 1962, our neighbor bought a used 59 impala. My brothers and I were playing tag with their kids in the yard. I ran through the carport and turned behind that car, One of those fins caught me above the right eyebrow, knocked my flat on my back. I still have the scar. We played at our house after that.
