I agree with everybody......... Hell, why not; most don't know the difference.

Sounds like a lifetime of hard-earned wisdom right there. Some of it makes me laugh, some of it makes me nod, and some of it hits a little too close to home. I don’t know if we get smarter with age, but we definitely get more honest about what matters. Live while you can, enjoy the simple stuff, and don’t take the rest too seriously.

I really don't like prostitutes and hookers cause they cost money, but I do love those sluts and whores.

Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, and more money. Yep I vote for all of the above, perhaps not in that order.

Old bones and Cold weather = bad .... warm fire, wood smoke, good dog, good mate, and good whiskey = good

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. Live while I can and die when I must. I eat when I'm hungry and drink when I'm dry - if a tree don't fall on me I'll live til I die.

I think there is a fixed, finite amount of intelligence here on our planet. The population is increasing faster and faster. Therefore the intelligence is getting spread pretty damn thin!

I think Robert A. Heinlein wrote it: Never elect someone who wants the job.

I am not sure that growing old beats dying young.
You sir, have found the secret to a great life.

The following is a poster I made for my son to hang in my grandson's room that seems to fit the intent of this thread. Some of it was plagiarized, but a lot of it I made up on my own:

Rules to Teach Your Son

When you shake a man’s hand, it isn’t a contest, but he should know that there is a man on the other side of that wrist.

Never be a bully, never tolerate a bully, either to you or to anyone else.

Never EVER take advantage of those less fortunate than you.

Each day, try to do something nice that nobody ever finds out about.

Always keep secrets with which you are entrusted.

Promises are implied- if you say you’ll do it, it counts as a promise. Remember that before committing to something.

Basic courtesy never got anyone punched in the nose.

Pick your heroes carefully, and hold them to a higher standard. Be loyal to them unless they earn your distrust.

If you borrow something, don’t treat it as if it is your own. Always try to return it in better condition than you got it. Only loan out those things that you could live without.

Never be afraid to speak to the prettiest girl in the room, but just because she’s the prettiest doesn’t mean she deserves you. When you find the right one, she will always be the prettiest in any room.

Live your life as if you are writing your own eulogy, and try to improve on it every day.

Both respect and disrespect must be earned, whether you are giving it or receiving it.

Rules are generally a good thing, but common sense is king. Break a rule if you really need to.

You cannot change those things that have already happened. All you can do now is control how you react to them. The best infielders sometimes make errors.

Always reach out to those who need it. If you get your hand bit, reach out with the other one.

Confidence means that you have no need to be cocky. Know that humility will make for the longest-lasting friendships.

Find that thing for which you are passionate and pursue it relentlessly. If you are passionate about it, it can’t be just a game.

Never underestimate the little guy who keeps his mouth shut.

If you have to defend yourself, do it quickly and in such a way as to make anyone think twice before ever attacking you again.

Don’t let others control you by their attitudes. Only you should have the power to dictate how you feel.

Don’t gloat- if you do something spectacular, act as if it is a normal occurrence. Those who are important to you will recognize it for what it is.

Be choosy about your friends, but know that everyone has flaws. Learn to tolerate those flaws, but only up to a certain point. If you choose right, your friends will happily tolerate your flaws as well.

Always keep an open mind. Just because you haven’t tried it, doesn’t mean you won’t like it. The greatest things in life always start out as a surprise.

LISTEN to those with different ideas- you’ll never learn anything from someone who agrees with you.

Family comes first – ALWAYS.

Oh THANK YOU! I've been trying to figure it out for years......
When I would come staggering home, my wife would tell me to come up the steps and get out of the rain. I would know I was outside. When she would tell me to go upstairs and get out of those wet clothes, I would then Know I was inside.............
