Can anyone name this man??
988e9f0f-986f-4f6e-8c6f-2d50280155d5.heic

He's part of the WV family that was identified as the poorest and most inbred, or something like that. He can't talk but grunts.

I'm being serious by the way.

EDIT: I could be mistaken but he looks similar.

Get in early , this thread is sure to be a hit one .........😜

Hopefully not. I watched the documentaries on this family. I also covered Appalachian areas as a Retail Investigator once many years ago. Welch, Mullens, Lyburn. It will definitely make you feel fortunate for what you have, if not a bit guilty.

Additionally, out of respect for LAH since he is friends with this family.

Maybe?

The Whitaker Family

Ok , now who are the Whitakers ? Folks talk of "Whitakers " in another forum . Reason I ask is I bought some very limited run Rugers from a Whitakers gun shop a few years ago. The shop seems to no longer exist when looking for their website .Now , they were great to deal with for me back when, but if the same shop , towards the closing they took deposits on non-existent guns etc. ........... I hear a bunch of complaints . 😐 Sorry to be getting off subject . A serious post👍

Look up Whitaker Family West Virginia. There are several documentary's on them. Trust me, they do not own a gun shop, they don't own very much at all. They are known for their extreme poverty and incest.

Quick search as recommended tells me it is just a family from West Virginia that has a good bit of medical problems that it is assumed from first cousins getting married or at least producing offspring... and not just once but through several generations. But someone in another discussion group suggested some of it could also be partially from poverty and bad water and just poor living conditions. It is one of those items that no one would know about if it weren't for the internet.

Yes, Whittaker's rivaled Bud's Gunshop. People (like me) drove for 4+ hours to buy from them. But after Darrell, the man who started it, passed away his son took a partner. Word is that when they built the new huge store, they slowly began reducing gun inventory (which has a smaller profit margin) and adding clothing lines (large margin but available online with no restrictions like guns). They went broke supposedly. His son Chris has dissolved partnership with the other guy, and has started building a new store right down the road. He says it will be ran like his dad's store, from what I hear.

If you notice the post by XUSNORDIE & the picture of Timmy in the film clip, him being in the middle, I wonder how they found him looking that way. In the picture I posted is how he appears. Yes they are an inbred family near here. While many trouble them with insults & even throwing things at their home while passing by, most here are helpful to them. They never go hungry or without heat & clothes. The UTube guy Mark has done much good for them.

Peter Santenello also did a video documentary on them as part of his Appalachian series. He interviewed them all. Some are not able to communicate aside from gestures and high pitch sounds. One of the older woman described the inbreeding and who slept with who to make who. I found it interesting as I used to cover a lot of Appalachian towns as a Retail Theft Investigator some years back. This is more common than you would think.

Santenello has some very interesting video documentaries about a lot of areas in America.

It is a really sad story. I’m glad they are taken care of by their neighbors. I hope they are happy.

I always wondered how wild animals keep from being inbred?

What keeps us from inbreeding is really only moral rules. How did our ancestors learn not to breed "too close"?

Is that possibly why some human species went extinct? All we have are bones to analyze of those species. Tim's bones would look just like Einsteins.
