Ported Red Label

Is anyone aware of Ruger doing any factory porting on a red label?

It is a 2000 production year gun.

Not on the regular run guns, maybe a Trap model had porting though.

Nope.... none of the Red Labels were ever factory ported.

I really doubted that any of them did, the Trap model is the only one I don't own so I wasn't certain.

The Trap gun is not ported

I thought they had a Sporting Clay model in both 12 and 20ga that had longer barrels and was ported. Only made them a year or two. I'll do some digging to see what I can find in my archives.

Newbie here and new to Rugers but I seem to have acquired quite a few in the last 24 months. Enough to warrant joining a forum.

I know this is an old thread but I'd like to know the answer to jasmine's question because -

I just bought a 2000 Red Label, 30" barrel dual bead Sporting Clays 12 ga that is ported. I bought the shotgun used but it is in mint condition with box and papers. It's so clean I figured the porting must be factory. Am I wrong?

Mine is a '93 production, so if the change in '95 also included porting I wouldn't know. Its the only SC 12 gauge I've ever seen.
