From the Ruger Q3 Earnings report

Maybe now I'll be able to get a full set of 12 ga chokes!!

Wonder if they’re a different design. The originals are listed on Rugers site as something they no longer service or have parts for.

And maybe this will bring down the prices of the originals to an affordable level for us common folks. Geez, the collectors gonna hate that.

The last (or bottom ;^) line posted above is also interesting:

"...and the shipment of new modern sporting rifles from our new Hebron, Kentucky facility."

So, Ruger will apparently be manufacturing AR-type rifles at the former Anderson Manufacturing facility! IIRC, most folks were discounting that possibility when Ruger bought Anderson. Doesn't bother me personally, because so many AR parts are pretty generic, and I always liked using Anderson products (receivers, LPKs, etc.)...
:)

I saw that also, but I am pretty AR-ed out at the moment with 6 AR's in various calibers, a Mini-14, and 9 10-22's, including an SR-22. I'm actually trying to sell an MP 15-22 since I have not, and probably will not ever shoot it.

I've only got one Red Label ;-)

Sounds like Ruger knows where to invest in future products. It'll be interesting to see what they and Magpul come up with for "expansion of the RXM family" although another striker fired pistol is the last thing I need or want right now. Hopefully the Red Labels will be true to form with nice walnut options and barrel/guage configurations with premium quality.

I sure hope not...I got bills to pay

I hope I’m wrong but with the quality control I’ve seen on the past 4 new Ruger firearms, a Red Label is going to be a train wreck for the company. Though the Red Label isn’t a high end shotgun it is expected to be one of the best at that price. I sure hope they get it right and don’t make a bunch of changes. Only thing I would like to see is the auto safety go the way of the wooly mammoth. Other than that feature I love my Red Labels.

I'm happy to see it, though I doubt I'll ever own one. Maybe if they reintroduce their small frame 28ga.

I have never even seen one in person. That says a lot. But since I just shot a 100 round sporting clay match I am kind of in the game for a semi or over/under. May come home with one today which doesn't give Ruger a chance to make me a customer again. Oh well, I never buy new any way.

It is simple to delete the auto safety

Ruger is building the new AR line in the old Anderson plant, taking advantage of the workforce’s knowledge and experience, they are NOT building Anderson versions of the Ruger, they are building Rugers…only part of Anderson Ruger is using is the building and workforce….Ruger needs the manufacturing capacity so they purchased Anderson.

As far as the new Red Label goes, I have a wait and see attitude, remember they introduced the Red Label once before which didnt work out to well.

Hopefully it won't be a turkish made "Red Label" under the Glenfield branding......

As for Sporting Clays....it's far more entertaining to be than skeet or trap. Highly addictive though.....it's similar to golf to me.....instead of changing clubs you change chokes.....I must have a dozen chokes. Some courses have crazy scenarios. 5 stand sporting you can get away with just a couple usually.

I know, done all of mine, but if you are a collector you wouldn’t want to do that I’d imagine it would detract value. Personally would just not have an auto safety rather than have to cut it
Wasn't this an option from the factory in the early days of the Red Label? If so, then I do not seeing it detract from value.

…as long as they keep away from the plastic 😉

I almost bought the 28 ga back when they first came out. I settled on the 20 as being more versatile. This is my plain Jane Red Label. I was pretty impressed with the wood on it!

Yep, that one's got some fine lumber on it!

I got a Merkel 28ga and for me, the 28ga seems to punch way above its pay grade.

Wouldn't surprise me if the new Red Label is a different design. The Browning guy that Ruger hired several years ago has been working on a pair of different designs, one a slide action and the other an auto. One of the receivers kind of reminds me of a Franchi but it has Ruger "American" styling.
Maneuver on the U.S. Patent and Trademark website and you will see the Ruger designs.

I tried, but couldn't find anything specific to Shotguns. Lots of stuff on AR's, ElectroMagnetic Safeties, etc. but no shotties.

I was considering a Franchi Affinity 3 Trap until I found out the gun store I won the gift cert to wasn't a dealer, the Brownings and Benellis cost too much, and the Stoeger I handled looked like a $450 toy..,.so I got a used Remington 1100 Trap (oddly with a 30" fixed mod barrel).

I would be surprised if the design wasn’t changed to accommodate for new manufacturing processes that were not available at the time of the original. I doubt that collectors of the original guns will have much to complain about. Have a look at the reintroduction of the Colt revolvers. High prices have held firm and even higher in some cases.

Don't sleep on Stoeger. The 3000 and 3500 series are very dependable. They are what you are handed if you go on dove hunt in Argentina....they can take some abuse. Several years ago I went on a guided Eastern Shore dove hunt and brought my Beretta A300. The outfitters were renting Stoeger M3500's. They used them during waterfowl seasons as well. They ran just as well as my Beretta. If I were to do it all over again I would have bought a Stoeger for half the price of the Beretta....and the A300 was a "budget" Beretta at $800.

Don't sleep on Stoeger.
It was a "walnut" Condor over/under. It looked like metal was painted (similar to one of those Heritage single action 22s) instead of blued and the "walnut" stock had heavy satin coating that made the wood look plastic. The action was very stiff, so much so I had trouble operating the hinge.

Since my sporting gun I bought is auto I might still look at the new Rd Label unless it's $2K like Ruger did with their version of the Marlins at first.
