is there such a gun as a old model super single-six that left the factory as a 22wmr convertible to a 22 long rifle, 22wmr stamped on the cylinder frame ?

I believe the magnum rollmarked frames were unique to some of the magnum models, although some early Super Single Sixes shipped in .22 WMR boxes.

Yep they look like these  These are the Mag. marked frames. They were not Super Singles-Sixs
Made from 1959-1964 S/N from 30001-394740 All had 6 1/2" barrels.

All OM Super Single-Sixes are rollmarked Single-Six on the side of the frame. There are none with a .22 RF Mag rollmark (this marking ended on the fixed sight 6-1/2" guns in October or November 1962). The first Super Single-Sixes were introduced Novembeer 1964.

There were however some Magnum only Super Single-Sixes made in the 555xxx range, maybe as a special order for an individual or for a distributor. This may be the reason there was a batch of SC6 boxes made with .22 WMR cal printed on the end.

Otherwise, all Super Single-Sixes were convertibles except for two factory Seconds that I know of that were shipped as cheaply as possible (with only the LR cylinder).

Hi Chet,
Were the two Seconds marked in any (other than as seconds) as coming with only the LR cylinder? Like a star or something?
Thanks,
