Very good choice. I'm lucky enough that my employer pays for my truck. I wear one out every 3 years or so due to mileage, just traded in my 2022 that had 140,000 miles on it. I tried really hard to get the 2500 Duramax but had to settle for the little brother, 1500 with the baby Duramax. In three months, I just had its second oil change completed today.

Time flies. My new truck is 31 years old. I remember how exciting it was to have a brand new truck.
I decided years ago, no more new vehicles. I bought my 2019 F150 4wd in 2020 with 13,000 miles. Still felt new to me.
I told them I wasn’t going to buy a vehicle that day because I didn’t have my check book with me. They said, no problem, just drop it off in the next couple of days. I didn’t expect that.

Don't drive much at my age and on oxygen, but I bought a used Chevy S-10 in 2008 with 90,000 mi. on it for only $6K. Just went over the 150K mi. Still runs great. It will outlast me. Ex-gf couldn't get over how the finish on my truck was so much better than her 200K mi. Lexus. I told her the best thing one could ever get to protect the finish was a bug deflector!

L8T or L5P? Guessing the former. I love the color. We only have four gassers like that right now (and ZERO GMC 2500s with the 6.6L gas) so they are in demand.
My new truck day was about 18 months ago, had to special order it to get something NOT black, white or sliver. Z-71 package with 5.3L, 10 spd auto, leather seats, extra cab, 6’-6” bed, lakeshore blue metallic, just turned 11k miles

Worn out with only 140k? For what those things cost, you should get 300,000 miles at least.
We're going to have to upgrade GA's pickup soon. I guess we underestimated her potential sideline business needs 4 years back and now we have to try again. Certainly not buying new but hoping to get something that will be suitable and dependable for several years. I've shied away from an entire decade's GM production due to the hokey fuel saving engine but maybe that debacle is past.

It was a 4 cylinder turbo in a four-wheel drive 1500 4 door. The company bought (8) of them within about a (6) month time frame in 2022. Mine was the last one on the road. Most of them had enough issues before they hit 100,000 miles that they got out of them instead of fixing them. We tend to trade in at 150,000 miles but the decision was made to get out of mine before it had something significant happen to it. Everyone else was put in a Ram 1500 with the Hurricane engine but I was able to successfully argue to stay in the Chevy.

They'll do 300K but at the cost of repairs it's actually cheaper to get out at 150K. No issues really with the 2.7L but the transmission will be $10K soon.
A friend just traded (at another dealer) a '22 2.7L with 96K and a horrible service history (at another dealer) for a new identical truck and got nearly $35K in trade. Of course these are "payment people" so the comment was the payment actually went down.

Why? Modern autos are faster and get better mileage than sticks. In heavy traffic, rowing through the gears isn't fun. Don
Grouch Attack bought a one owner 2018 Silverado 1500 crewcab Z71 with 43K miles today. It has the 'big' rear seat (big enough for an adult to sit in). Price was a little higher than hoped for but she liked the color and it has all the features she wanted.
Only downside I see is the 20" tires. I'd prefer more tire and less rim but this one has some really big brake rotors so probably not going to interchange. The dealer put a new set of tires on so shouldn't be a problem for the next 3-5 years.

Had my new truck day today! Got rid of my RAM 2500 diesel for a new F150, first time I’ve been in anything but a 3/4 ton in 30 years! It is like driving a car. 5.0 instead of the twin turbo 6 cylinder.

Ahhh...the last of the "good years" according to those that must do warranty work. A buddy asked me Sunday what to get (hates F*** and currently drives a mid-2000's D**** regular cab short bed V6).
I told him to find the lowest mile 2018 or older GMC/Chevy he can afford. Called me yesterday saying they all have 100K miles and are $20K. I told him that's because people know what they have. Said he found a 2017 High Country with 23K miles in Boulder CO he might just buy for $36K. I said sounds like a good deal. $36K buys a turbo 4-cylinder work truck with no carpet new.

Well, this one has 44K but wasn't quite $36K. It seemed expensive but most of what we found were white, red, or black--none of which she wanted at any price.

This one had been originally purchased, maintained, and traded in at the same dealership 45 miles from here. I guess that's worth something. I'm still driving my first new truck It's a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 350 V8 4 WD. It has just under 100,000 miles on it. My wife and I were out looking for a new truck and found this one, it was dealership owner's demo that he had just got. We got to the point of being in the salesman's office talking about price with my trade in and I thought we had him at a pretty good price, so I asked the wife what she thought. She said, "well this is a blue truck and I wanted red"! So, the salesman looked at her and said, "how much money would it take to make that look like a red truck to you?" My wife quickly replied "a thousand dollars", and I thought, yeah right. The salesman didn't blink and eye and said "I think we can do that". I about swallowed my tongue. It's been a good truck and since I'm 80 years old it could be my last one.
I bought my 2002 Dodge 1500 with 96,000 miles on it in 2015 and thought I got a pretty good deal. I am the second owner and now it has 102,000 miles on it. Actually, I’ve put about as much money into it as it cost me to buy. But I still like my truck even if I only use it to go to Lowe’s and back.
